Joe Flacco Drafted #18

First-Round draft pick headed for Baltimore

The Baltimore Ravens had the 8th pick in the draft, and they needed a quarterback. So when Matt Ryan of Boston College went off the board to the Falcons at pick #3, The Ravens set their eye on Joe Flacco.

They traded the #8 pick for the #26 (plus concessions) gambling that Flacco would still be available. Obviously, they just couldn't wait that long as they then traded wiith Houston for the #18 pick. That is where they got their man and Joe Flacco became the highest Bluehen ever drafted.
