Re: Skolnick lands AD job
The Hens may be FBS but the News Journal remains at the lower end of D3. A few days back on the front page of the online edition there was a headline...McBridge promises to fight for such and such. They meant McBride, the last name of Delaware's sole representative in the US House. No better than a ...

Re: The Odds: UTEP
I listened to the sad ending to this sad affair and I could not see how the game ended at the free throw line. We were down by three with little time left and a UD player on the line so the appropriate strategy was to make the first throw and purposely miss the second hoping for a basket off the reb...

Re: JMU and their transfer portal
Boy, JMU has a heck of an AD. He didn’t miss a step after Cignetti left for Indiana along with a bunk of JMU players. Next coach leaves after two years for a big job and true to form he quickly signs Billy Napier. If we ever get a full time AD I hope he or she can do half as well.

Re: It’s a bad product
Basketball with minor exception has always been the red headed stepchild of football. Way back when I went there UD was one of the few "major" colleges that gave grant-in aid ships to basketball. Football did it so basketball had it too. Irv Wishniewski who was coach at that time pleaded w...

Re: Fears Confirmed..
I agree . There is a lot of talent at the lower levels from guys who didn't attract much attention in high school but bloomed with good coaching. Spotting those gems are where the devil is in the details.
Re: VCU vs UD
The Willard case really hurt UD in more ways than one. It showed a real disconnect between the athletic department and the BOT. At that time UD was desperately trying to live down its image as a party school and in that instance went overboard.

About the Ventures Bowl payout?
I assume the bowl money the school received went into the general or athletic fund but I wonder if football got a decent share?

Ever since Brey it's been a parade of bad coaching hires in the sport. A competent AD might be the answer here.

Pity we didn't play Nova at the end. That might have told us a lot. Other than that, I'd say progress.
