Re: All Decade Team

All Decade Team was posted, no Hens made the cut unfortunately. http://www.fcs.football/cfb/story.asp?i=20191230115208070902804 Got me thinking about our own all decade team. But, do we involve players that started their careers in 2010? Or can we use guys like Paul Worrilow whose career spanned in...

Re: College of Charleston

Where was Asamoah hiding on the bench? I thought about him as the game began to get away from us and wondered why he didn't get minutes. He can often bring a spark to our squad. With the game going from excellent to downright piss poor in the second half, he might have juiced up the team especially...

Re: College of Charleston

Yep. The players and MI need to learn and move on. There will be more poor three point shooting games as they are becoming more frequent as the competition gets better. And Painter needs to play more and get more incorporated in the offense. He is a force near the basket. His defense is plenty good...

Re: College of Charleston

We seem to have forgotten our two big men in the second half. Especially with the ice cold shooting, this was a missed opportunity to mix things up and get some higher percentage shots with two guys who are pretty darn reliable. Tough loss and now we’ve got three road games. I may be wrong here, bu...

Re: College of Charleston

Got beat by a good, not great C of C team that is just a little better than the Hens. Teams with big, athletic and physical guards that play good defense will give the Hens trouble. They cause turnovers against the Hens combo guards and contest 3s. MI will have to work to keep Painter incorporated ...

+1 Offensive and Defensive Line play is the key to winning FB and UD has come up short in both areas over the past 9 seasons due to not enough talent, poor development, and poor schemes/coaching.
We also have a drone deficit.

Re: Chrissi's Message

Not for a second suggesting we don't need more and better talent overall, but I do think it's just a bit more complicated than that. It's not. Great talent can make a mediocre coach look like a genius and vice versa. As our patron saint Joe C would say, "it's about the jimmies and joe's not the x's...

Weber State Sacks

While watching the Weber State game last week, the announcers talked at length about how Weber St. had only 15 sacks in 2018, made it a point of emphasis during the off-season, employed hand drills for their DL (which the announcers had watched & raved about), and had 50+ sacks so far in 2019. Maybe...

Re: Rocco -- an OUTSIDER'S perspective

Thanks for the insights, Brian. I appreciate seeing different perspectives. A couple of thoughts: None of the UD players that were invited to NFL camps were Rocco's. Virtually every team SEEMED to be much faster than us. If true, that is not going to improve with experience. UD just recruited less ...

Re: FCS Playoffs

Well 2007 was the first time UD & DSU had met on the gridiron so interest was at an all time high. Interest has waned significantly since.

Re: Staffing changes?

Couldn't maintaining the staff members also be a detriment? I mean if I am a defensive player no matter how great my relationship is with the DC or anyone else on the staff I would be thinking to myself "These guys play vanilla and don't really put me in a position to succeed?" We don't blitz, we p...

Re: Staffing changes?

Maybe I am wrong here but IF there are any staff changes I wouldn't expect them until after the late signing date In Feb. These coaches have recruited and established personal relationships with the players UD is recruiting for the 2020 Class. I don't believe it to be a good idea to potentially los...

Re: FCS Playoffs

Just an update on FCS playoff attendance. All I can say is wow. Even JMU attendance was not good. It also appears the Fargo Dome was less than full. https://sports.yahoo.com/fcs-playoff-attendance-numbers-105407745--ncaaf.html?src=rss There's nothing new in that. Other than Montana back in the day ...

Cushing was the only scholly player who didn't get to play vs. DSU. I believe he deserved a few minutes.
