Re: 1st prez from 1st state restores SOME UD pride

After years of not much reason to feel good about wearing my UD gear (thanks largely to the frustrating/infuriating descent of UD football into complete irrelevance), President Joe has finally given me a reason to don my old DELAWARE BLUE HENS hat. Thanks, Joe and Jill. Go Hens! +1, though the medi...

Re: Hofstra

On that fianl posession vs. Hofstra, someone (Allen, Asamoah, other?) should have just driven to the basket and put a shot-up, or got fouled, or dished-off to Painter or Carr for a lay-up or jam,or Painter or Carr may have had time to put back a missed shot. UD only needed one point to tie or two to...

Re: Only two months to Kick Off

Big Sky announced today that most of the conference will play a conference schedule this spring with the intent to qualify for the postseason tournament, but surprisingly Montana, Montana St, and Portland St are joining Sacramento St and will not participate. They'll still do something, but they wo...

FloSports

Anyone else having the following same issues/complaints witht he FloSports webcasts? Quality varies acrossthe CAA but UD's webcasts of Home games are among the worst. 1. No sound for at least stretches? 2. Sound too low? 3. Sometimes able to get sound from only laptop, not TV despite changing the so...

Re: Hofstra

the CAA is open season from what we've seen and in the polls up to this point. Just talked to a UD friend who feels like me that we should be expected to win the conference title. Hofstra played the same amount of men as us with no bench points. #s played no role in the game. We both agreed that MI...

Re: Will Knight

Of course it grew tremendously. You had a huge money making operation where schools got to rake in all the money and not pay their employees. College football and basketball were (and are) fantastic revenue generators, especially when you get to keep all the money. What a system. Student ahtletes a...

Re: Culture

I started a thread in Hoops about being a Mid Major Hoops program. You should ALL read it, it applies 100% hear. What is a little funny, is that some want the rules to benefit the little guy(UD football, sorry guys...Fact). But......in the real world does it work that way? In most cases No, so why ...

Re: Will Knight

"Competitive balance" matters more than player's personal freedom and where they want to be? Where was "competitive balance" when coaches who would recruit players up and leave before that player even steps on campus, but is not tied because of the NLI he signed? How is that "fair play"? The pros d...

Re: Will Knight

Another factor that Knight cited whne he transferred from ODU to UD was playing with his Smyrna HS QB backfield mate Henderson. So much for that.

Re: Will Knight

Indeed - the spring season could look a lot more like a prolonged tryout for an FBS offer rather than an actual season. But you're right, this isn't all that new. Jabril Cox, NDSU's best defender, transferred to LSU last year, going back a few years EWU lost their all-everything, multiple year star...

Re: Will Knight

If I am not mistaken wasn't a significant reason that Knight transferred form ODU to UD was to be close to his family that needed him in the wake of his brother's death? If so, no loyalty to family or the home college that wanted him from the get-go.

Re: Will Knight

This is nothing new, it's been going on for awhile & may only increase later in 2021. People are taking note now that UD lost 2 players in a week, including what many believed was the Hens' best playmaker. Spring will be interesting, FBS schools will be having Spring practices while most FCS school...

Re: Will Knight

I wonder if other CAA teams are losing players? Are FBS teams using this method finish their covid-19 recruiting classes? I don't think any thing is wrong if a player makes an individual decision to transfer but I don't like the thought of pirating. 72 Hen, Players are in all probability being pira...
