Re: Chrissi Rawak named AD of the Year

She deserves the credit for moving UD into the 21st century. Hard to imagine anyone having an issue with her receiving such an award. It took a lot of confidence, energy, research, coordination, relationship building and salesmanship (and more) to start our transition, and it will take a lot more t...

Re: Hens Offseason

I keep going back to teams like Charleston, JMU, Grand Canyon, St Mary’s, and others. How are they doing it? Don’t reinvent the wheel. Let’s figure out how some mid-majors are thriving in this new world and follow their example. One way os by having recruiting contacts outside of the NY to VA region.

Re: JMU

And JMU’s head coach left this morning for the Vanderbilt job. Well, JMU has positioned itself to be an attractive place for young coaches, so I am sure they will have a lot of worthy candidates to fill that’s position. They have a good shot at getting a solid young coach looking to make his mark f...

Re: Chrissi Rawak named AD of the Year

Happy for the AD. Glad she got “FCS” recognition; she will be irrelevant in “FBS”. Last time I heard, there are 5 female AD’s in the power 5. She will be the next, it's only a matter of time 👀 Absolutely everything she’s doing here is definitely a résumé builder to move up. I just hope she can get ...

Re: 2024 Baseball

UD could have swept Campbell but in the second game leading 4-1 gave up 7 runs in the 5th & 6th innings largely due to walks, hit batters , and a throwing error by a UD Pitcher. The glass 1/2 full version BHB is that the Hens took 2 of 3 from #22 Campbell who had won 8 straight coming in and ha...

Re: JMU athletics

one potential avenue for generating alumni support for athletics is the hiring of well known and national recognized coaches. By no means does it translate into large donations. Of course winning big in the major sports against well known/highly ranked teams is the prime driver for successful colle...

Re: JMU athletics

While JMU's total endowment is still probaby small in comparison to UD's endowment, it wouldn't surprise me if the dollars and/or percentage restricted to athletics at JMU is significantly larger. UD's endowment dedicated to athletics is probably smaller both in dollars and percentage than that at m...

Re: JMU athletics

The last time I remember looking, does UD now have a student athletic fee? I believe the answer is no. I believe that there was (is?) a relatively small athletic fee that was imposed to help pay for the addition of the practice Basketball courts to the Bob because they are supposed to be available ...

Re: JMU athletics

Transition, we should find out how they did it. If there was ever a college program that transitioned to a higher profile, it is JMU. True, but based on the performance of both JMU & UD 's athletic teams JMU Athletics was in a better position before JMU made their transition to FBS than UD Athl...

Thanks, LILax. 2.5+ inches of rain forecasted for tomorrow. Bring the boat shoes. Definitely worth the extra $10 for the Club House pass…will need to warm up and dry out at half. Hoping to make the game. Might wear my fishing waders. 😂 Opening trout season weekend coming soon. Damn, and after we ha...

Re: College Basketball Coaches

Maybe Calapari’s star is dimming a little with another first round/early loss? #14 Oakland just beat #3 Kentucky with a DII transfer guard that shot 10-20 on 3’s. And oh yeah … they made 15 3s total. And #11 Duquesne beat #6 BYU with 5 players 6’7” or bigger and 4 of them from foreign countries … M...

Re: News Journal Article Today 03/20/24

Yeah, the Rocco and Carty regimes use the same excuse for not playing the 3-4 or the 3-3-5 - hard to get enough talented DL. Yet many FCS programs manage to do so. I thought that with the move to the FBS, that excuse would be put to bed. The other rationale for the 3-4/3-3-5 is that today's passing ...

Re: College Basketball Coaches

How about Mark Few at Gonzaga? His record is 714–142 (.834) and he has 41 NCAA tournament wins. All at a school of 5000 out in the middle of nowhere. And this debate of “who can coach” versus only recruit is really meaningless. Winning is what matters. At UD, it is really all about getting to the N...

Re: Jyare Davis to the Portal

Best of luck to Jyare and thank you for all your efforts on and off the court towards the betterment of Delaware men’s basketball and UD. You represented us well. If this shocked anyone, you respectfully aren’t paying attention and if you are looking to blame anyone, that would be the NCAA. Don't b...
