Re: Spring Season?

My feelings as well. Must be something brewing. Not sure what could be brewing. Good news is there could be a vaccine available for use by late Nov. Not widespread, perhaps, but the beginning of a positive development. The key word there being Could. Working at one of the Pharma companies involved ...

Re: Loudest Moments- UD Stadium

BHB, I’ve seen so many great things posted about that McNeese game over the years I’m jealous that I just missed it Bluehens didn’t make my radar until December 8 of that year of 1974. UNLV Colgate game I do remember it was really cold that day as mentioned on this thread (even down on the Bethel R...

Re: Loudest Moments- UD Stadium

Am I recalling correctly. One of the last plays if not the last was a long pass by McNeese with the receiver diving for the ball which was about a foot away from his hands. Ramblin, you are correct. Not much noise until the fourth quarter when all hell broke loose. We were down 24-6 and scored the ...

Re: Blue Hens Rewind

One game that has been very elusive to find any type of video on is the 1974 UNLV game The 1974 McNeese State game would be pretty cool as well Cowbells I have searched a lot for videos of that McNeese game. Can't find any. There is a guy in Leola, Pa. who sells game films for almost any game you t...

Re: When will College Football resume? Links and references.

The point about corona virus deaths is incorrect. Since the beginning of the pandemic in the US, the warnings have always been that those with pre-existing conditions are at a higher risk of becoming seriously ill or dying with this virus. The fact that many of the deaths involved patients with othe...

Re: Trivia Top 10 RB's

Don't know if I can name 10 with my gap in seeing a lot of games from 1975 to 2003. In no particular order with the exception of number 1. 1) Nate Beasley- the McNeese State game alone cemented him there for me. 2) Vern Roberts 3) Gardy Kahoe 4) Omar Cuff 5) Andrew Pierce 6) Roger Mason 7) Ivory Sul...

Re: CAA fall football cancelled

Take a look at how well MLB is working out. CAA cancelling was the right move. I can only imagine how much quick testing would cost CAA teams to implement and it would still only reveal what we all know already. Would have been a disaster of a season.

Re: Let's talk some football

Playing for Tubby, and watching UD Football for all these years, I cannot believe that the Wing T could not succeed in today's game. You see evidence of it in todays college game. Clemson showed some of the counter concepts out of the Pistol formation. We see players who are recruited as athletes w...

Re: CAA fall football cancelled

Yes, the cancelling of the football season is terrible, but was necessary for the safety of all involved. My wife and I will miss the games, tailgates and road trips tremendously. I can understand the extreme disappointment being expressed on here. I also feel for the players who have worked hard to...

Re: CAA fall football cancelled

For UD to play this fall would be a waste of time and money and more significant- put student athletes and students (and their families) in general at serious risk. Despite the staggering numbers there are some reasons for hope that this will end- Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are going into Phase II...

Re: Ya gotta be old to remember this game - video

I played on that team! Very fond memories!!! I'm born and raised in Pa. but spent lots of time in Newark with my Aunt and Uncle attending some UD games in the 60's before attending UD from 1971-1975. I lived for football season. 4 great years of football while I attended. I'll never forget those ye...

Re: Ya gotta be old to remember this game - video

Masons fumble was in the 1971 game at home where we lost 32-27. He didn't fumble at all on 45 hard carries in '72 up at old Temple stadium, a 28-9 win. You are indeed correct. My memory failed me. Almost 50 years and I can still see the image of that play in my mind but can't get the year right. I ...
