Re: Next Step

So, I wandered over to the Sammy board and found this post from JackD: "SDSU has a handful of true freshmen and red-shirt freshman who will start or see a lot of playing time. Those guys, part of outstanding recruiting years, have earned starting roles and playing time over very good players with m...

Re: Poll: Who Are You Rooting For? SDS or SHS

Again, I am happy for KC. Any criticism I had for him 12 years ago was based on my ignorance of FCS football and how it worked. Mentally I was still existing in the "glory years". You really can't argue with his success at SHSU. He has shown that he is a more than capable FCS coach (and that is prob...

Re: Poll: Who Are You Rooting For? SDS or SHS

Little biased but I think you should root for the team that eliminated you. 😁 Agreed. It is nothing against KC. I'm happy he got there. That should be a reminder of how badly the UD screwed up football for a decade. When the tournament is over it should be some comfort that you were eliminated (and...

Re: Next Step

I'll be Captain Obvious here- 3 ways the season could have gone. A loser, middle of the road, or win. We won and in the process got some great experience time for underclassmen moving up. I believe that will pay dividends this fall and we will see a much better performance than we would have had if ...

Re: Trey Lance

By and large, almost any QB draft pick seems to be a roll of the dice. Wentz played well for a season or two, then regressed (albeit with a less than optimal O-line in front of him last season) and Jared Goff regressed as well. Both were traded by their 5th year. Both have question marks behind thei...

Win is a win (I guess). Some high points but a lot of sloppiness. Was it sloppiness or did they just take their foot off the pedal to avoid running up the score? Just curious- what is the depth chart for QB? The Go Hens chart doesn't have Paolini in the top three?
Sorry- Paoletti.

Re: Attendance at DSU game

Is ESPN2 broadcasting the game live or are they just re-broadcasting? I looked at their schedule and it listed the game as Sunday night at 7 pm.

Re: No game Saturday - Albany opts out rest of spring

Yes it stinks. If you made the commitment to play in the spring season you should follow through save Covid issues. However I have always felt from the get go that this spring season would be viewed by many programs as less than a "real" season and this kind of thing was bound to happen. Despite tha...

Re: Athlon Top 25 FCS spring pre-season poll

Four CAA teams in the top 20. JMU being the top of the CAA at #4. Not overly impressed with that. Delaware at #22 behind Albany. We shall see.

Re: Fall 2021 Schedule

Gotta admit I was one who went "who" after seeing Dixie State. Next question was "where?". Utah. I saw St. Francis, too and thought "what?". But then I remember we played Sacred Heart too- and lost. So I won't take St. Francis for granted. I like that we get to play RI in Kingston. A great road trip...

Re: The ongoing KC Debate

Contract is for 5 years. The last 2years Rocco was 12-12 with 1 playoff game ... KC 13-10 with zero playoff . We can do better then either of them if 2021 doesn't produce some good numbers. Yes. I doubt there will be a coaching change even with a bad performance in the spring. I'm hoping things tur...

Re: The ongoing KC Debate

My view is that the spring season will be primarily for development. Just a guess but I don't think there will be any negative "employment" consequences for a less than stellar performance. I think most of us were concerned that 2020 would not be good if for no other reason but the lack of experienc...

Re: The ongoing KC Debate

KC is probably about 63 years old (or more). That's usually a retirement age. How many head coaches get hired at that age? I'm sure some examples can be found, but the overwhelming odds are a huge NO. We can argue about his record till hell freezes over, but despite the up and down performance at le...

Re: Spring Season?

My feelings as well. Must be something brewing. Not sure what could be brewing. Good news is there could be a vaccine available for use by late Nov. Not widespread, perhaps, but the beginning of a positive development. The key word there being Could. Working at one of the Pharma companies involved ...
