Re: Baseball 2020

The Blue Hens took two from MEAC NC A&T, but who and where is our Sunday starter? Seven pitchers were used today. Where is Haas? When will Dubecq be back from injury? Looks like Haass, Dubecq and DiFebbo are all currently out, but I don't know when they'll return. I'm guessing Sullivan will start m...

Re: Baseball 2019

BlueHenBill, I said Charleston had the best overall record in the league, not the best conference record. But agree they have shown some vulnerability as of late. I would start Silan in Game 2 again, and then start Ludman in Game 3 and hope he returns to form. He can throw strikes. Go to Dubecq if ...

Re: 2019 Field Hockey

It’s interesting that the Netherlands’ Tessa Gote’s biography mentions that her father, Joe Gote, played football for the Blue Hens in 1974 and 1975 and rugby in 1976 through 1978. I’m assuming he’s Dutch but I don’t know that for sure. Does anyone remember him? Interesting question for long-time B...

Re: Baseball 2019

We got some very good pitching from our starters in the William and Mary series. After Wakely and Allen in the bullpen, though, it gets a little shaky. The difference in the series in the HBP category was glaring - our pitchers plunked 9 of their players, and they hit one of ours. Wakeley is defini...

Re: Baseball 2019

I was a pitcher for the Fightin Blue Hens 1960-62 and most times started and finished games throwing 140-175 pitches per game. In high school, in New Jersey, I pitched seven innings every Tuesday and Friday, as our other starter broke his leg, so I had to pick up the slack. My arm and body became c...

Re: Baseball 2019

Please tell me Sherm didn’t kill another pitcher. Last 3 stars all have had TJ or might have TJ. Kuhl, B Walt & now Sullivan. I never understood why wait...if thinking of TJ get it done & get your rehab started sooner rather then later. I don't remember Chad Kuhl having any arm issues when he was a...

Tore his Labrum sliding into 2nd. Surgery and out for the year. Really sucks
Wow, was hoping it was just dislocated. Obviously, a big loss for the team, but this has to be really tough on him.

Re: Baseball 2019

A good guess for the starting rotation would be Sullivan, Walter, and Ludman in that order. The harder question is who will start at catcher, left field and first base? That would be my guess too. I expect Goan to play, but not sure if will be at first or catching. If he's good enough defensively, ...

Re: Baseball 2019

There are quite a few freshmen pitchers on the roster, I think they will need at least one or two to step up. I also noticed that they only have 2 left-handed pitchers on the roster, one of them being Walter. That will limit them when it comes to late game moves.

Re: Baseball 2019

So would you want him to be the front end starter or get a lead in 6th or 7th and have him close it down? Me personally, I want him to close it down. We have enough starters on the weekend that can us a lead and him the ball to close it especially come conference time. I would absolutely want him t...

Very nice honor for Billy and after the freshman year he had, it's well deserved.

Re: Baseball 2019

Don't forget about Kyle Hinton. He's had a good year so far, he's a junior and should be back next year.
