Re: Baseball 2020

MLB has announced that there will only be 5 rounds in the draft as a money saving move(?). Presumably that increases the odds that Sullivan could be pitching for UD in Spring 2021 assuming that colleges are back to "normal" by then.

Re: Transfer

None of the Fall Sports can happen unless the campus is open and the students, faculty , etc. are back Possible but unlikely. Winter Sports are also unlikely. For example, Men's Baskeball starts practice by NLT early Nov. If the campus is shut for the Fall semester (late Aug - late Dec), I don't see...

Reruiting Trnasfers & 2021 Incoming Class?

Does anyone who is willing to share here know what process in the COVID-19 era the staff is using to recruit transfers and the 2021 incoming class? What are the open recruiting periods and key dates?

Re: 2021 Hens

The UD Men's Lax 2020 Roster shows 11 Seniors & Grad Students. While I understand that many may want to move on with their lives, I wish all were planning to return in Spring 2021, especially Goalie Matt DeLuca.

Re: 2020 Fall Sports Played in Spring 2021?

If college campuses can't be opemed in the Fall, i don't know that the Winter Spoerts could be played either. For example, Basketball practice starts by NLT early Nov, so how could you have a Basketball season? So (assuming it was safe to open the cmpuses in Jan) all of the Winter Sports could start...

New Geographically Based Conferences?

See the attached link to the Phila. Inquirer's Sports Columnist Mike Jensen's sensible idea that given the revenues lost by NCAA program new geographically based conferences (at least for non-Power 5 programs & at least for all sports other than FB and Men's & Women's Basketball) make sense - https:...

I guess it was foolishly limited to one player per fr...

Re: Hero Sports realignment article has UD in the American

UConn's recent commitment to the Big East eliminates any chance Delaware and UConn will be conference mates again. And UMass' commitment to the A10 eliminate any chance Delaware and UMass will be conference mates unless Delaware too sends football the FBS Independent route as well while joining the...

Re: Darling

Why does a player testing the NBA waters have to decide whther to return to college BEFORE the NBA Draft? Why not let them see if they are actaully drafted and the projected contract dollar range before having to make the college vs. pro decision? Another consoderation is that being drafted does not...

Re: ALL TIME 'UNDERRATED' TEAM- 1968-2019

Glenn Covin, RB, played required FR FB in 1970, had a sensational year in 1971, and suffered a career ending knee injury early in the 1972 season. Tubby said he was probably the best HB in his tenure at UD.

The Bison took a big hit on defense today. Cox transfers to LSU.

Any disussion, at least in a general sense, about the possibility of tranfers this year and recruiting for the 2021 class?

Re: Transfer season

IMHO there may be significantly fewer transfers this year than last. The coronovirus restrictions prevent coaches and prospective transfers from meeting face-to-face and campus visits. UPDATE: Thursday April 2, 615 have entered the transfer portal. FYI We will see if a significantly lower percentag...

Re: COVID-19

I hope this doesn't happen but if there is a second wave of COVID-19 in the Fall (a distinct possibility) and vaccine(s) and effective anti-viral(s) aren't available until March-Sep 2021 (as estimated), all Fall sports, probably all Winter sports, and a reasoanble chance of all Spring sports (in oth...

Re: COVID-19

Athlete or non-athlete, if i was graduatimg from HS in Jun 2020, I would probably delay my enrollemt to second semester 2020-2021 or until Sep 2021. I don't know how this would affect admission offers and scholly offers.
