Re: Week 1 Depth Chart

Amachi came out of obscurity for me, but great for him. Gilmore at RG was a little surprising. Covatto over Ashworth was a surprise, but I suspect they wanted a little more weight in the middle. We discussed that a lot last year, but Ashworth stuck. He played hard and I thought better as the season ...

Re: Live Construction Footage

It was announced previously that they will be utilizing temporary lights for next week's game. Thank you. I missed that but I suspected they would be using temporary lights. That being said the 1 pm starts for all of rest of the home games confused me a bit. Why not another night game? Are temporar...

Re: Live Construction Footage

Perhaps this is a silly question, but here goes. In the process of demolition a set of the stadium lights was removed on the West Side. Looking out the window tonight in Birdsboro at 8pm it was pretty dark. Start time next week is 7pm. Are the lights in the center of the field and East side sufficie...

Any chance to bring back the hedges?

Come on Joe
So no possibility of rabbits on the field? Damn. I remember rabbits on the field at graduation in 1975.

Re: Top 100 all-time Blue Hens

Most of the players I think are top 100 come from the 70's. Gardy Kahoe, Dennis Johnson, Joe Carbone, John Bush, Nate Beasley, Ray Sweeney, V,ern Roberts from the 70's. Honorable mention- Cliff Galira, the quintessential wing-t guard. More recent (2009 and on)- Bilal Nichols, Andrew Pierce, Pat Dev...

Re: Live Construction Footage

It wasn't the loss of seats, it was the magnitude of the loss. I know times change and newer generations want something different. It will be nice to have the easier access to vendors and the beer as well as improved restroom facilities (but I will still miss "the Wall"), however this magnitude of l...

Re: Live Construction Footage

Before construction started, many of us were wondering if the west stands would be knocked down, or were to be retrofitted. In my mind, UD chose the more complicated route. It has been very interesting to see this all come together, but I think the retrofit made this more difficult. Since it took f...

Re: Live Construction Footage

Not a good sign- they are now removing the composite concrete section from the top of the seat back sections (C/D) down at least 5 rows or so.

Re: Live Construction Footage

Certainly not a complete list of what has to be done before August 29, but here goes: 1) Handrails/safety barriers all over the West stands i.e. back of top of stadium, separation of club seats, rails around walkway, rails between sections, etc. etc. 2) Elevator install 3) Installation of 2000 plus ...

Re: Live Construction Footage

Seats will be ready and stadium will be approved for occupancy by August 29. No press box, no concessions, but plenty of porta-potties. Hopefully parking is ready by then as well. I'm betting overtime every day till then. The lights will be on almost every day. What's the over/under for the number o...

Re: Live Construction Footage

Clearly the football program is headed in the right direction. We can thank Chrissi Rawak and Dr. Assanis for that. I love what she has done for the program. I hope she stays for a long time. I am thankful that the University finally got off the dime and did this project. I am grateful for an alum l...

Re: Live Construction Footage

I never utilized the press box at a game (ha-ha) so the fact that the West Stand version won't be done isn't horrible but it is embarrassing. I rarely buy food or beer at the game, usually have my fill at the tail- gate. I pissed on The Wall since the late 60's so using a porta potta for 2019 isn't ...

Re: Live Construction Footage

What kind of approval is required by the municipality and UD's insurance carrier to allow for use of the Stadium on August 29?

Re: Live Construction Footage

Alumni Stadium, Dover, Delaware- capacity 7,193. Closest neutral site with the needed capacity- PPL in Chester- capacity now listed at 26,000. Not a bad option, if needed. However, there is a soccer game scheduled for Saturday August 31 in the evening. Temple has the Linc to play Bucknell on Aug. 31...
