There just aren't a lot of kid out there who are going to turn down an Ivy or ACC slot to play at UD. That said, it's certainly not beyond the realm of possibility to think that Delaware could and should be able to pull kids away from Towson, Rutgers, Loyola, and (newcomer) High Point. Need coaches who players know and want to play for. Schedule probably isn't helping at the moment, but I don't think that's a big deal. The Hens are about what they usually are. The University seems to have trouble committing to trying to win. One conspicuous recent exception is the field hockey program, which went our and got a real coach, and a bunch of international studs, and turned it into one more national title than Virginia Tech has in any sport. Clearly a school like Delaware needs to pick its spots, but lax seems like one it could pick.

With only 12.6 schollies spread over a 40-50 man roster there should be plenty of good lax players left over after the Ivy, ACC, & other upper echelon programs complete their signinigs each year. Of course the Ivies don't give any athletic schollies  , but most meet the full financial need for all of their students with grants, and therefore could have a 40-50 man Lax team effectively on "need based" grants equal to 100% of the full cost to attend.

Hey Koli-

This will be a one-time response & don't try to PM me - I have all of your aliases blocked. What's the process like? It's unorganized & they don't have their homework done, which is embarrassing when it's a kid that you're contacting the very first day/weekend you're allowed & it's a kid that you're offering and that's played in-state before and you don't know basic things about the kids background. Meanwhile, the competition, which has been previously mentioned in this thread, that has NO connection has done their homework & sells the kid and the family on every connection they can muster.

Bottom line is it really goes to show a 16-17 year old how much a place really wants them and makes an extraordinary effort to woo them to spend the next 4 years playing for them. And then there's UD, that can just go thru the motions...

If anyone (except Koli  ) wants more info I'll be glad to share specifics thru PM.

You'll get a full report as soon as I get mine on the lack of football recruiting at Coatesville.

Seems there is a trend here.

Still no movement on that front in terms of offers which seems to be contrary to your earlier rumoring Rick... Great QB & WR prospects in the 2020 class there.

The original discussion was about UD not recruiting in Coatesville. I have heard nothing from you or others validating your claim. You're implying that both our football & lax recruiting has some serious problems and I think you need to substantiate your position.

Ricky Ortega has been contacted by the Hens but has not been offered. I am not privileged to know why . What I can add is that unlike many other schools the Hens do not

offer unless there is real interest returned by the player.

I’m heading down to Baltimore to see our Hens square off against Hopkins. Great opportunity and mini benchmark game for our fellas. Sunny day, 52 degrees, breezy...throw on a hoodie and make the trip south everyone. Go Hens.

Ugh. 2-6 and our two goals were in the first 90 seconds on broken plays. Still a longs ways to go both in this game but also in showing we can compete with top programs.

Kitchen with a funny goal to make it 5-7. He want to a righty question mark when it looked like he had a gimme on his left hand. Oh well, it worked. This game is there for the taking, and has been very even.

Hopkins’ decision-making is awful. It usually is. Lol. Isley makes it 6-7 with the same shot Kitchen passed up on his prior goal.

Iffy slash on Hens. Was stupid, so hard to complain. Jays score flag down, but hit pipe on subsequent man-up. Deluca with 11 saves, many above average. Eisle gets his 4th with :11 left in 3rd. 8-7 Hop after 3.

And we’re tied. Delaware keeps running the same thing. Hop keeps playing it. Poorly. Hop going man up with 13 left. 8-8

I’m convinced Hopkins bet on UD. Their shot selection is insane. Kurtz makes them pay, man-down. 9-8 Hens. 12 left

Hens despite being dominated at the X are leading 9-8 with 11 left in the 4th. Refs missed a HUGE penalty that would have put the Hens a man up. Coaches were livid and rightfully so.

Disimone with a goal off a push/dive thingy. 10-8. They’ve been clearly the better team for a half an hour
