This team is putting it altogether at just the right time as we get ready to head into post-season play after one more game. The return of 2018 CAA player of the year de Koning after a multi game absence due to a concussion has helped spark the Hens offense.

4th straight undefeated regular season. Heck of a senior class. They get JMU again in the CAA tourney next Friday in Newark! #GoHens

Hens are #11 in the RPI. The ACC has six 6 teams in the top 10, so that presumably takes away 5 at-large spots. The Big Ten has 2 teams in the top 10, so that's another at-large spot. BUT: assuming Princeton and UConn get the Ivy and Big East bids and St. Joe's wins the A-10, UD doesn't need to worry about too many bid-stealers taking away at-large spots higher up.

Winning the CAA tourney is of course their best bet, but I kinda think beating JMU in the semifinals would be enough to get an at-large even if they lost to William and Mary in the title game. It would be close. But presumably the teams behind them in the RPI (Big Ten, A-10 and Big East schools) will also lose in their conference tourneys, so the path to someone else taking the at-large spot isn't obvious.

Hens face JMU at 1pm today.

In at-large bid competition... RPI #8 Syracuse lost to RPI #6 Louisville in the ACC quarterfinal. Probably doesn't change a lot. RPI #7 Boston College beat RPI #19 Wake Forest. RPI #3 Virginia beat RPI #5 Duke- that changes nothing. The ACC semifinals have 4 teams from the top 7 in RPI so no bid-stealers are coming out of that league.

IN the Big Ten, slightly different story. RPI #12 Michigan lost to RPI #24 Penn State. Michigan losing is great for UD, as long as Maryland (RPI #2) or Iowa (RPI #10) win the tournament, and not Penn State or RPI #14 Northwestern.

Big East tournament starts today- if RPI #4 UConn wins, all good for UD. Anyone else would be a bid thief.
A-10 tournament starts today also. UD should root for RPI #13 St. Joe's.

Hens up 3-0 on JMU at half... assuming nothing unexpected happens, title game is Sunday at 1.

UD just needs to take care of business on Sunday. Northeastern beat the Tribe in the other CAA semi final.

Let’s take care of business and hope PSU wins the Big 10. I’d love to have a regular season win over the Big 10 tourney champion as the Hens beat PSU 3-1 earlier this year. May help with seeding if our 3 losses are to UCONN/Princeton/St Joes all perceived tourney teams if they win their conferences. Finish the job Hens!
