What happens to Rocco?

Post by HeHateMe » Sat Nov 23, 2019 4:27 pm

Curious to see what folks think WILL happen with Rocco (not what should happen)? My guess is he gets one more year and his contract is not renewed.

If he is somehow extended, they will never see another dime from me.

Sadly, I don't think the AD will make the right move and terminate him by Monday, as should be done.

Hey, TR and KC had a few real stinker seasons as HZ rightly pointed out. DR is averaging around .500 which is good enough for the current UD strategic decision makers.

If he is back next year, not one more cent from me and 25others from our group. Chrissi, do the right thing, cut the cord with DR.

What I think should happen? He’s told to take an Uber home from the Main Line because he’s no longer coach of this program. What will happen? He’s back next year.

One more year, I would assume.

I would think the AD doesn't want to have to fire 2 Head Football Coaches in her short tenure just yet. But who knows.

AD Rawak took a bold step to hire Rocco. Now it's time to take a bold step again and let him go. Trajectory is everything and his is not good. This team is at the bottom of so many statistical categories (sacks gained, sacks given, 3rd down conversion, KO coverage...). The prospects are not good with him. Painful to go through another coaching change but more painful to stay the course.

Does anyone think CR wants to admit a mistake? Maybe she starts getting her resume out on the street & makes this disaster someone else’s problem... 🤔

I think he’s back next year but he needs to make changes in his staff. IMO Cosh should’ve been let go after Elon.

Also DR needs to let Ambrose control the offense with minimal input.

It was a good hire that has yet to turn positive. He will be back and gets at least next year to reverse this mess.

Mistake? She was bold to fire the previous coach and then to hire this one. It had widespread support. She can get widespread support for firing this coach. Maybe she has advice already and feelers out to see if some young, up and coming coach might be interested.

I kinda agree. I mean, initially I thought it was a wonky hiring, poaching another Coach within the Conference, who was a bit older, and who really won nothing at this level (Nattys, I mean). But looking back, maybe it was a hire to just bring some stability to the program, some 7-4's, etc...maybe the AD couldn't find the Coach that she really wanted. So...........here's...............Danny. Take it or leave it.

He has had a lot of success though, at 2 programs! The history is there for his success to continue at UD. Just hasn't happened. Yet?
