All Time Blue Hens Women's Top 20

Post by BackInMyDay » Mon Jan 20, 2020 8:20 am

Can we start this list? Outside of Elena Delle Donne, Cindy Johnson, Tyresa Smith, the obvious ones... Who else would you add to this list? Lets see if there are any long time WBB fans here

I always liked Tyresa. She came in from unheralded downstate and just blossomed here. Only one to my knowledge besides EDD to get drafted.

I don’t know why I can’t remember her name but the tough Italian girl that played PG on Tinas 1st tournament team, Megan something I believe makes it and Elana Koshanaky would definitely be in the conversation as a 4 year starter during that great run pre Elana. Julie Sailer would be in conversation as well

Sallies did NOT win the 72 title , didn't even make the finals. Wilmington beat Dover that year. I think 75 was Sallies 1st year in the finals and it was very forgettable. CH crushed them!! Sallies 1st title in hoops were Donte's junior and senior year.

I do remember in 73 or 74 one of my CYO teammates brother may have had a big turnover in the semis.

Mike Hartsky was a starter on the 1972 Delaware State Football Championship team. He also played in the 1973 Blue-Gold game.

I don't recall if he played basketball, but Sallies lost to St Mark's in the 3rd Place game after they both were beaten in the
Thursday Night Semi-Finals at the UD Field House!

Since it was a hoops thread, I thought that you were referring to hoops. I was at that semi final
