CBI/CIT

Post by Udforever1 » Mon Mar 09, 2020 9:16 pm

Tresolini writes in his article that UD has already been invited to both the CBI and CIT. MI at this time isn’t sure if they will accept.

Both CBI and CIT are pay to play.... not MI’s choice up to AD and President and really BOT. Where does the $$ come from?

Don’t disagree with above statement. I am not 100% sure but I think it’s $30K to host a game and 15K to be road team and that is per game in tournament. Not including travel expenses.

This should be an absolute no brainer to play in either of these. But if the Hens don’t, we’ll likely hear some mumbo jumbo about playing since July, needing time to concentrate on academics etc .... Just put up the $ and get it done. They should want to end the season better than that mess tonight and possibly play an interesting opponent.

I understand that. The university has more than enough money to pay.

Playing or not playing will have nothing to do with money. It’s a team decision.

I say just take a couple more out of state students to pay the cost! According to the UD President - DE students are too stupid anyway! 😂

MI didn't sound too enthusiastic about it on radio postgame, less than 10 minutes after tough loss.

Maybe a day or two will lead to a reconsideration.

Whether or not this team wants to play in either of these tournaments is completely up to them. They have been playing since the summer and deserve to do whatever they want with their spring break (which both tournaments would interfere with). Not a single opinion outside of the coaching staff and team should matter. If they want to play more basketball with their spring break, great. I will enjoy watching them. If they want to spend it with friends and family doing something fun somewhere warm. More power to them. They deserve it.

I'm sure we all would love to watch them play more ball. But i'm sure most if not all of us remember how fun spring break can be too :D

It’s the teams decision. Their goal was to win a championship and they fell short of their goal.

There is value in letting Hofstra be the last game of this season and what they remember in the practice gym until November.

I am good with whatever decision the team makes.

It would be nice to play but I do understand they have been together since August with the trip to Bahamas.

I will be fine with whatever decision they decide.

I'm hoping for post season play for selfish reasons but would completely understand if the players decided against it.
