I said this before and I may be way off but on the surface, we have missed the boat on the 21' class. Perhaps the staff, if they reads these boards, will laugh at that statement but mid Sept, no commits and now only 1 offer out.

6 open scholarships and losing recruits to Towson and Loyola.

If Ochefu gets a waiver, we have Novakovich and Carr as our only big men next year so a transfer will be needed and at this point, it will be a mid-year transfer.

I can see Mutts transfer causing an issue as the staff figured they had him for at least another year but Darling was a senior, so looking at guys in 21' should have already been happening.

Hope I am wrong with all this but things in this program seem off with the transfers and now striking out in 21'

darthdave, What recruit did UD lose to Towson? Or did you mean Stinson to JMU?

darthdave, What are the chances taht UD is able to sign some good HS prospects and/or eligible transfers during the late singing period (runs from when to when?) for the 2021-2022 Men's Basketball season? What do you believe has ben the cause(s) of the recruiting failures to date for the 2021-2022 season?

DD- the total list of additions minus subtractions is quite concerning. We can't really seem to turn the corner on retaining key players. Hoping for the best under the present situation of filling the roster.

I suspect UD already knew this when they made an offer to Peterson.

Bill....impossible for me or anyone to answer that question.

Can only go off what we know which is if nobody leaves after this season, we have 7 scholarship players for 22/23. That means 3 players at least will be signed for next year so they have 10 available. My guess is we will see at least a mid seaosn transfer signed who can play mid Dec of 22/23 season and 2 high school guys signed this year.

I am just puzzled!!!!!

It wasn't as bad as in most years but every year, the posts start in mid August....

Well this year, I guess your mud has stuck to the wall.

I am totally perplexed by the lack of activity. I can't explain it. Other schools are progressing with recruiting

But please...................... I don't want to hear that they just mailed it in for this recruiting season due to Covid.

I in no way believe that but if that was the case at UD or at any other school, that staff should be terminated immediately.

Champions will find a way to adapt, adjust and overcome!!!!

I don't follow basketball as much as football but I believe we will see a few transfers announced when the timing is right. Look at the past transfers... Darling, Mutts, Goss, Painter, Gardner, Ochefu. Maybe there are some others. I believe Ingelsby is a good recruiter and will only take players that fit his system. This is a strange year for recruiting but I think Ingelsby has a plan. IMO, many of the best players considering the transfer route have still not made up their minds.

The NCAA has already granted another season of eligibility for 2020 spring and fall semester athletes. Voting today on whether to extend that to winter 2021 athletes. There are lots of recruitment implications either way (i.e., could Painter get another year?). Stay tuned.

Understood and sounds possibly great for UD. I think something being overlooked, does He want to be a 24-25 year old senior playing college hoops? Even these guys eventually want to move on with their lives.

Today the vote was to give winter athletes another year of eligibility. Becomes official once the meeting ends tomorrow (and assuming it is not brought up for a vote again before then).
