Email today from the Ticket Office and Brian S.......

We wanted to let you know of changes that will be made to seating arrangements on game days-

The Delaware team bench will be switching ends of the court to in front of Section 16.
The Delaware Pep Band will be moving from section 12 and will be joining UD Students in the Cockpit Student Sections.
A new Courtside Club will be added on the floor in front of Sections 11 and 12. This new elevated end-of-the-court premium seating option will put fans close to the action while being able to enjoy exclusive amenities during games. The Courtside Club is a private area for up to 60 people and offers a full-service bar and a variety of food menu options.
Floor seating capacity will increase from 28 to 40 on the south sideline.

These changes will be announced on Bluehens.com

Interesting and thanks John. Sounds a bit like what W&M does. They also do it for football behind one of their end zones. Last year it was packed. Would love to see UD do it once they renovate.

Did not receive an email...hmmm. I wonder how many season ticket holders who have had seats behind the UD bench in sections 17 and 18 will be offered the chance to select the similar seat in sections 17 or 16?

Long time STH, but have not received the email. So premium seating for 60. Used to be, pre covid, there were tables and seating on the top concourse along with some reasonable food selections. Was a good spot to get a bite before the game, meet up with friends and enjoy some pre-game chatter. That has long disappeared. Now empty space or some overpriced gear for sale. Given the product on the floor the past several years and the lack of amenities it is leading me to seriously consider giving up both men's and women's tickets. We are only two miles from the venue, so travel is not a consideration. Sometimes home before post game show ends. Shame because it is a game we love. But more and more FLO is looking like a viable and more conducive alternative. Will have to see how things shake out over the next month or so.

DoubleC. Certainly respects everyone’s opinion but you mentioned the product the last couple of years and a reason why you might now renew.

The team went dancing 2 years ago and played .500 ball last year with a true big man. Considering our history, that’s success; however, there is plenty of room for improvement but Ingelsby has stabilized this program …now he just needs to take it up a notch.

I think the transfers caught him off guard and I don’t think any program in the CAA has come close to the talent loss that UD has faced. Too early to predict this upcoming season but on paper, there is reason for optimism.

The top part of the CAA will be very good IMO with UD in the mix.

Last year was not a success by any reasonable stretch of the imagination. Surprised anyone would suggest it was no matter what it was being compared to or what the excuses. It was also probably one of the dullest, unexciting years in the Bob in recent years. This year better be a lot better, especially with this lousy OOC schedule.

I think what Dave is saying is that considering our history, which we don’t have much of one, it’s nice at least that 17-16 is now considered a down season, instead of something like 7-23. That’s something that has changed since MI has gotten here.

To me, anything outside of a top 4 finish with a realistic shot of going into the CAA champ of winning it all should be a down season this year, and while I don’t want to use the phrase “hot seat,” it should start getting warm.

Schedule is pretty boring, and not in love with all the road games, but hopefully should allow all the new faces to gel.

Feels like Delaware Basketball is always a day late and a dollar short, and that trend really hasn't changed under MI. And it's super frustrating because this season could be lining up to be a really good year, but I fear our lack of depth in the post will come back to bite us yet again. I sure hope we don't have any injuries between Davis and Houser. Anyhow, I'll try to stay optimistic and hopeful that we will be competing for a CAA championship. And Ill even stop bitching about our crappy non-conference schedule... :)
