Our recent LB transfer who was second team all NEC has been added to the List

Marje Mulumba

He looks good too, a player that should contribute right away. Quick and strong and can pressure the QB

Hens have 6 on that list. 😀
Tubby: 3 national titles, one won on the field, all D2
Keeler: 3 national titles, all won on the field, one as a player, two as a coach, 1 D2, 2 FCS
Carty: 2 on-field national titles, one as a player, one as an OC, both FCS

Carty - get an FBS bowl win!

Yup. Carty is doing a good job. Some of the defensive players on the Championship Sammy team were JUCO players and other quality transfers. Sure, let’s look for players from the big league teams, but if you can get some gems from your FCS peers and from DII to fill the team’s needs, you can build a nice roster.

We have a good school, the WAC, a supportive administration, full-ride scholarships + other bennies, and we have an enthusiastic coach that has won a championship at this level.

The future looks bright.

Carty just tweeted a celebration gif. Could be more reinforcements on the way.

Carty also stands to benefit from Keeler’s vision on improving facilities. He’s in a great situation and has shown he understands how to capitalize on it.

Well looks like I whiffed on Mulumba, saw him play vs Penn St and don’t remember seeing him again

It’s so interesting how the portal has changed everything. I can remember fans from other programs ripping us for taking so many transfers and now you have head coaches like Prime saying they won’t even bother recruiting hs kids. It’s way out of control but certainly has put about a decade of Keeler criticism, at least in that regard, to bed forever.

One would hope.

Everyone took transfers…even Tubby. Brock was a fool when he said the Klondike Kate’s crowd couldn’t name 10 transfer players on past Hens teams. What a clown statement. My table did it in about 30 seconds.

Basketball (and all the sports) deals with the same issue. Coaches have to develop great relationships with their players and it still might not be good enough to keep your stars. NIL money comes calling…goodbye player.

Seriously, hard to imagine any kid passing up hundreds of thousands of dollars to stay loyal to a small school.

Still, there are only so many spots on teams. Fill them with the best players possible and hope you do it better than other teams at your level. Challenges are different, but the goal is the same.

Yes college football and basketball changed forever when the courts got involved, and it surely created a ****show for sure. But it's here to stay I guess and we also have changed our recruiting strategy like everyone else so we'll have to do it better than others at whatever level we are at. I'm sure we will still recruit a few high school kids each year, but it's transfer U or bust from here on out.

Agreed. Player retention is going to be hard for Delaware moving forward. Easy come, easy go when it comes to the transfer window/NIL situation. Carty seems to be doing well with it so far.
