Freshman Redshirts

Post by Jaxhen1 »

It looks like St. Fleur, Moul, and Manning have played in more than four games according to our Bluehens.com statistics page. I didn’t realize that. Too bad, I was hoping these players could have retained their freshman redshirt status.

This means less and less in the age of transfers, NIL, etc. Teams can/will change much more season-to-season for one reason or another. There are no guarantees on any roster anymore.

Marker has only played in 4 games, should he be redshirted absent a RO injury, if available?

If they need him to beat Nova they would burn that redshirt

This was your nice breakdown on the Marker thread so who knows if he still has a red shirt to burn or what class he is ?

“According to bluehens.com, here is the breakdown of playing experience:

2020 - 4 games (redshirt?);
2021 - played, but Covid year; and
2022 - played 10 games.

Listed as “senior” but redshirt sophomore???
I only count 1 year of eligibility used...”

It was actually Mike Connor and he played the week before as well in Tubbys last home game vs Richmond a 10-6 win. He played the whole game at QB and then again up at Villanova the following week vs Brian Westbrook. Back then you could potentially play one game without burning your RS. But he definitely played Two games that year
