Great board name and avatar.

I'm looking forward to different, better teams that will come into Newark.

D1 360--Good overview of stats and information on Delaware to CUSA.
Some good info here and helps connect the dots -- e.g. I did not realize that ALL October games would be week-nights. Ugh.
There is a "theory" out there among CUSA fans that having 11 or 12 teams in the conference will mean only three Oct. mid-week games OR more opportunity for games on ESPN 2 or regular ESPN OR a five week period where one w-end games is wedged in. JUST a theory. Fans are guessing on this detail.

I found this article interesting. It does not impact UD currently but I think a watered down version of the ACC would be a good final landing spot should the league go into survival mode. It would be better both athletically as well as geographically.

I was thinking much the same when the FSU snub happened. They already wanted out, they are as good as gone now. Also think the Big10 is the likely destination if it happens. Clemson is definitely watching and thinking they need to leave as well. You can't invest everything they invest and think their conference is holding them back, even with an expanded playoff. The domino effect is surely coming after that and I think its a very real possibility that the ACC is the next Pac12. When the SEC expands, its always to markets they don't currently have already. I'm thinking they target UNC and maybe Virginia. They really don't need the north Florida and South Carolina market, at least in my mind.

That certainly creates a need to either keep the watered down ACC together with new teams or it fractures apart. UD would be a stretch at the moment, but who knows? That was the whole point of moving up in the first place (which was 1000% the correct move I've been waiting a long, long time for). Step one was move up. Step two is get better (and expand the Tub). Step three is see what happens with realignment. We only need CUSA until we don't. We're not in the same realm as a lot of ACC schools, but not all of them.

Also, as a lifelong FSU fan, it's two days later and I'm still absolutely livid. -sigh-

That’s a cool article - it talks about what everyone has known since before the season - FSU leaving and Miami, Clemson and UNC follow.

The juicy parts are FSU leaving for the Big Ten instead of the SEC because of ESPN and potentially a last minute boycott of the Orange Bowl, further sticking it to ESPN…

Stay tuned and grab your popcorn

Fine. October nights are warmer than November (MAC). If there are four of them, two are home, two are away. That will keep four Saturdays available for other activities (kids, grandkids sports, HS games, etc). The away games will be a much better broadcast quality, and the home ESPN games may well attract a new group of fans, in addition to us "diehards".

This is the way.
Tubby: 3 national titles, one won on the field, all D2
Keeler: 3 national titles, all won on the field, one as a player, two as a coach, 1 D2, 2 FCS
Carty: 2 on-field national titles, one as a player, one as an OC, both FCS

Carty - get an FBS bowl win!

What do you think will be the typical attendance at the mid-week games? I would be surprised if we top 8K.

If it's a Tuesday night game I'd guess 5-6K. Remember there are a good number of fans and STHs that travel here from areas that are easy to do on a Saturday or weekend that are probably going to have difficulty making a trek for a midweek Night contest

Were probably going to lose a big chunk of our lower De. fans for those games.

I know a number of fans that come from Central Pa and even NJ. I hope they still come but I imagine a mid week, work day trip might be less likely for a good number

The mid-week games are probably the biggest disappointment from my lens. We attended all games this year - home and away. That was only due to the fact they were on weekends. During the week games just makes it too difficult with working folks and those that commute a distance to get to home games.
