You know a term I haven’t heard recently is “meaningless bowl game”.
The tide is apparently turning and more folks are finally getting on board and/or the true non-believers have left or just decided to stay silent and not continue to look silly?

2 things can be true
Just because the FBS move was the right thing to do, the fan base seems to really like it, The stadium was full and the food tasted better at the tailgates, doesn’t mean a football fan can’t be looking forward to the Villanova at Lehigh game this Saturday…
What? Who said anything about “2 things”? I just commented that we don’t hear from the “meaningless bowl game” crowd much. That all.
Anyone can still follow FCS football all they want. They can even say they’d rather the Hens be in the playoffs. But I just noted, none have lately.
I'm wondering if there is a ticket allocation given to the participating schools to unload. Several years back I read when UCONN played in a major bowl that the school was stuck with thousands of unsold tickets that they could not unload. Some of these bowls are meant to be money makers for the organizers besides marketing opportunities for sponsors.

Okay
I hope somebody on the UD staff working for Callaway is following FCS because their is still a lot of talent playing in the lower levels including D2 and D3 even JUCO
It sure would be nice to get one of those Ivy League wide receivers to come here on a one year graduate program because they could step right in and help immediately…like a Nico Brown from Yale for example … a talent
recruiting recruiting recruiting...It ain't rocket science....We need better more athletic players...That simple....

CH, I really enjoy your analysis of various situations. Good reading. It sounds that you have some doubts about the staff following talent at lower subdivision levels (“I hope somebody…).
Let me try to dispel your doubt. One assistant coach at a recent BHTC lunch stated, “We have to coach better. We have to recruit better.” He mentioned JUCO and FCS. When someone in the audience mentioned D2 and D3, he agreed wholeheartedly.
Now if an assistant coach is keyed into these possibilities, I would say that Patrick Callaway is front and center on that front as well.
Competition for talent at the lower subdivision levels is keen. Results can vary.

ANYWHERE BUT THE NEW MEXICO BOWL!!
HELL NO.
The 1979 Zia Bowl was played in New Mexico
Delaware beat Youngstown State 38-21 on national TV
This game was actually the Div 2 national championship game
I'd rather go to the Albuquerque/Sante Fe area than anywhere in Alabama or Louisiana with the exception of New Orleans. The wife and I went there last year and had a good time.

Thanks for confirming that for me MP… and honestly, I know our recent history tells us that they are following the lower divisions … that Westchester linebacker was a perfect example and I think a player of his talent could definitely be a major contributor at the FBS level…. We need a big brick house LB
I would love to see us get a WR that is a threat to put up some serious yardage after the catch…. Wimberly, The Harvard grad transfer from 2023 definitely provided that but he got hurt early before his full talent could be recognized
If Minicuchi decides to move on, what do we really know about our second and third string quarterbacks?

I'm sure the people are very nice, and the water is definitely better than where I grew up (next to a naval base and the NAWC). Still not going to Mobile, AL though
ESPN2 is showing a "College Football Bowl Game" on Dec18 at 9pm. No other bowl game is scheduled that day so could this be the Bahamas Bowl replacement?

Won’t be going to Frisco. Arkansas St and Missouri St will play in the bowl game in Frisco that was originally scheduled to be the Bahamas Bowl.
Follow Brett McMurphy on Twitter- he’s broke two bowl matchups already today..

Now known as the Xbox Bowl. Again, I'm glad we're not going to Frisco.
