Keeping a close eye on our offers and its essential what I thought....

We essentially are still offering the same type of kid that they would have recruited when we were FCS.

These coaches have to understand that their is a lot of momentum around the program right now and the available of talent to the Blue Hens is vastly different. Im cool with finding the "Gems" but some proven young p4, high level G4 talent is extremely getable and it looks like we kind of want to go the "safe" route...

This is not the time to be playing it safe. Cant be afraid to take some chances..

I tend to think that our coaches know what they are doing, much better than we can evaluate what they are doing.

And half these portal guys don’t even report offers. Let’s see how it shakes out in a few weeks.

FCS, and let's not forget D2. How about that QB from Ferris State? Won the D2 championship last year, and just might do it this year for 'Ole Miss. What a talent!

I agree . There is a lot of talent at the lower levels from guys who didn't attract much attention in high school but bloomed with good coaching. Spotting those gems are where the devil is in the details.

Am not vouching for accuracy of these pages. Just something that popped up.

Per this, only 15 schools have less "talent churn" than Delaware. Four of those were in the playoffs as of dawn yesterday and three others are service academies.

Some of this may be true. But I just went through this with my own kids..

Nothing is not seen.Especially with the portal.
Every kid reports every offer. Its leverage. It would be not smart not to post it.

I would like to think our coaches know what they are doing.. Not saying they dont.. There is too much talent not to explore it all. And even at a low price tag.

We are a mid-level(yes- mid level) -FBS program right now who just won a bowl game in-spite of the talent gap.
We got lucky a lot along the way. I dont care how early it is, you gotta take some chances.

I think Wake Forest’s very good DL were all transfers from lower division schools. Phil Lutz was from a D3 school. There are some very talented players in the lower divisions. We just need to do the proper due diligence to find and evaluate them.

We had multiple transfers last year, including P4 guys Noah Matthews and Noah Rosahac, not report offers…

Adding onto my prior post, Trujillo (UCF), Rehmann (West Virginia), Duplessis (Coastal Carolina) and Ellison (Tulsa) never reported offers on social media before signing with UD last year.

Not everyone does in the portal. Especially the P4 guys. High school, yes. I guarantee we probably made 10 other offers today that weren’t reported publicly.

I’m pretty confident that D3 Phil Lutz and D2 Jackson Taylor would’ve contributed last year at the FBS level as well

Recruiting great high school players does not mean they will continue to develop into great college players. Sometimes the unranked high school player develops into a great college player. Many guys that start their college career at Division II schools develop into FBS caliber talent. I think when you look at the school we are recruiting against it shows we are looking in the right places.
