Agreed - they're not the absolute doormat they were in the years before. They're turning into a respectable program. May only last as long as the coach is there, that tends to be what happens with these kinds of schools.Tribe4SF wrote: ↑Sun May 14, 2023 11:41 amUConn is a program on the rise. Got the right coach and have seriously upgraded their talent over the last 18 months. 2021 they were 1-11 with only win 21-15 over Yale and a 10 point loss to Holy Cross.Cluck U wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 8:04 pm They lost 59-0 against Michigan last year. 6-7 record.
Tennessee this year shouldn’t be as bad…maybe we can match that score against PSU. UMass, JMU, Sacred Heart…flashback to Delaware’s old schedule might make him feel more at home.
Wish him well, but not exactly a big upgrade.

As I said, when Brett entered the portal, few know the money he got from Carty, but we all know he was a walk-on as a frosh...
He graduated in 3 years, so now he's getting 2 seasons at UConn, which is a very good University on a free ride, will obtain at least one Masters Degree & gets to play at the FBS level. Best of Luck to #13!

Any updates on Shoes? Hopefully he’s far away come September as we play 2 of those teams, he might be xtra motivated to walk over the Hens

Re: Guys in the Portal
Due to Shoes offers being lower tiered teams than Delaware I honestly think he opts for JUCO rather than use his 1 time portal pass. Currently his only offers are Mississippi Valley State (Bottom SWAC team), Stony Brook (2-9 last year), Citadel (4-7 last year) and Hampton (4-7 last year). Citadel being a military institution I don't forsee him going that route so if not JUCO he'd probably opt for Stony Brook or Hampton to be somewhat close to home having a young child.

Would the wrong answer be he’s still chasing Jerry Garcia Jr from the Spiders?Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2023 11:46 am

Well, there was another Jerry Garcia that penned “He’s Gone” and Christy would not be proud of Brinkley because it wasn’t a thing of beauty…bluehenbillk wrote: ↑Tue Jun 06, 2023 5:40 pmWould the wrong answer be he’s still chasing Jerry Garcia Jr from the Spiders?Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2023 11:46 am

Is the mighty 1-9 doormat UConn gonna beat the 111th ranked FCS team today?Gannonfan wrote: ↑Sun May 14, 2023 11:59 amAgreed - they're not the absolute doormat they were in the years before.
