UConn football is simply much better positioned than UD at this point in time, even as an FBS independent. Until/unless we pull the plug on the FCS experiment, it's not even a serious argument.

I will definitely support a move to FBS. That said, there is no doubt that UCONN has suffered massive financial losses despite heavy financial support from the wealthy State of Connecticut.

Will the tiny State of Delaware financially back a similar effort for UD? i would hope so, but perhaps others can enlighten me on the potential for that.

The last that I heard was that DSU would need to tag along in some fashion, including an FBS UD playing AT DSU.

I repeat, I'll support it. Let's go!

Good Lord the PC nonsense must stop. DSU seemed to be I
Be improving a little and canned their coach yet again. They can’t get out of their own way. Why do we have to dumb down our aspirations to accommodate?

Rather have St. Francis, Del St and Albany??? Come on Caribb, be real

Mora Jr. should have have gotten some National COY votes.

Took their lumps for sure, but may have hit a home run here. Plus someone may be enrolled there next fall working on their Masters

If you can get UConn on Hens schedule UDPat, I’m all in. It would be more interesting to me then our FBS game next season because we could actually compete with UConn... maybe young Pat can work it for some extra credits... Congratulations to him!

UD's schedule is a joke compared to UConn's. I'd take it 100x out of 100.
Checked in on UConn

Holy crap 1-9
ranked #130 out of 133

Only Win over Rice and beans

At least they should beat broken Sacred Heart this weekend

I wonder if In hindsight, Buckman would’ve just stayed at Delaware

Don't forget Plack on Uconn as well. We could have used him on those long passes Elon executed against us.

I loved Plack coming out of high school and we all know he became known as a very physical player that could lower the boom early in his career, but he seemed to kind of hit the wall in 2022, maybe even before. I don’t remember him making any interceptions last year. I do remember Davis, a Freshman none the less, giving him a few stare downs after Delaware gave up big plays too. So Plack had tremendous potential but in the end, didn’t really meet those lofty expectations. His off the field injury probably didn’t help either.

Plack is currently 4th on UConn in tackles. Buckman has 43 catches so far this season. Both would have been very helpful to the Hens this season and to suggest otherwise is offbase.

Ryan was really a class act on the radio last evening personally thanking #17 for returning to the team for his final season. He mentioned he was concerned that Jordan would possibly feel he would not get enough catches with the amount of transfers moving in and seek the portal but he hung tight .

RC sounded ready to go into battle !

Jordan Townsend did make a good decision and maybe he realized his talents were being wasted under the previous staff. The way I see it is by bringing in talented WRs, it just makes everyone better. Townsend actually benefited by Carty bringing in more talented WRs and it’s great he realized that and stayed.

Buckman? I mentioned in hindsight, does he regret leaving Delaware? Why did he leave anyway? Maybe he should have followed Townsends example and stayed.

I like Plack and it is usually better to have experienced players come back for another year.

That being said, was Plack on the field when Richmond scored?

We lost 5 games last year and our secondary got lost more than once in those games. Was it scheme or did our players simply move themselves out of position?

In any case, our DBs are physical, fast and agressive. Have they been burned a couple times? Yup. But, I like their attitude.

Hope we can contain nova’s run game (and QB) without selling out and I hope our DBs get some INTs this weekend. We will need an all out game from everyone.
Tubby: 3 national titles, one won on the field, all D2
Keeler: 3 national titles, all won on the field, one as a player, two as a coach, 1 D2, 2 FCS
Carty: 2 on-field national titles, one as a player, one as an OC, both FCS

Carty - get an FBS bowl win!

Townsend confided that he stayed mainly because he doesn't like change and he shared how much he enjoys UD. He was also very pleased he got an early opportunity when he initially arrived to return punts which eventually led to a larger receiving role as he matured.

I have no idea why Buckman left nor if he is happy playing for a loser even at the higher level .

Each player has their own agenda . Placing blame on either our present or former staffs concerning answers we don't have has no benefit .

I watched UConn get dismantled live and was watching both players. Buckman made the right move. They used him quite a bit and truth be told we have better WR's than him.

Plack made me sad. I'm a big Plack fan and thought he was under appreciated nationally because of how good Whitehead was. I really truly saw him as that ultimate Rover type player. Decent in coverage but great tackler and someone defenses could really be creative with. Having him leave and then watching how little he played...I don't know if he was hurt or if he started off the year and has gotten benched, but aside from special teams, he was in a handful of plays. After watching both teams play live and trying to be as objective as I can, UD would beat UConn tomorrow if we played. Amonte Strother's situation (in terms of teams wins) isn't that much better. I understood Williams transferring to USC and Colby trying out the Big 12. The Plack and Strother's move was just a poor football decision to say the least.

Carib- I noticed the same thing regarding Plack. Unless I was hallucinating, I thought I heard that he was allegedly involved in a traffic accident, which resulted in some fractures? He did not seem to be the same player after that.

Not sure what happened but Strothers isn’t on the Buffalo roster anymore as of a few weeks ago. Besides Elon, our new defensive backfield has done a nice job.

I have no dog in this fight but Buckman had 6 catches against both JMU & Tennessee and 9 against Georgia State. He was a starter here his last year and seemed to have a great pair of hands . He would have obviously been an asset against the level of teams we played .Why diss the kid?

The last that I heard was that DSU would need to tag along in some fashion, including an FBS UD playing AT DSU.
That could theoretically happen because the game(s) in Dover are already scheduled. Outside of that, there would be no newly scheduled games at any FCS opponents, doesn’t happen.

Then again UD has to actually make the jump. Wake me for the press conference
UD to FBS. I never thought I’d see the day
