You mention that your original statement was that the question itself was absolutely premature thus kind of stupid. I think that was a poor choice of words on your part. IMO, no questions are stupid. And someone that post a question should not be considered stupid for posting a question. If someone wants to post a topic for discussion so be it. You or I don't have to agree with everything but we can choose to participate or not. I think the original question was just something for us to talk about. This website is a place to come and have fun. Try to disagree if you want to but choose your words more carefully. You could have said the question was absolutely premature and stopped there.Henzone wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 3:36 pmMy original statement was that the question itself was absolutely premature thus kind of stupid. That hasn't changed. When this season is over we can evaluate the results and make our own conclusions and compare to past years if people care to. We have people who always want to convince others they are right for some odd reason. The first game ratio was 57/43 pass/run which I see as reasonable but we certainly are going to have to establish a run game if we are to be as successful as we all want. I make no mention of our red zone status as of only game 1 .72 Hen wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 2:40 pm You have to give some credit to the QB's that some of the past WR's played with. Could you immagine our 2023 WR's playing with Nagy or Flacco. On the other hand could you immagine our best WR's of the past playing in the Carty offense. It is so hard to compare the best ever group of WR's but this class might be the deepest and with possibly the best overall speed.
Tubby was smart enough to take one of the most successful running games in the (Wing T) USA and slowly modify it to accommodate a strong passing game and came up with some super stats and special RB's, QB's as well as receivers. Carty can do whatever it takes to win and I'm on his side .
As for your comment on the QB's. The good ones would find a way to move the ball and win ball games. The best players need to be on the field regardless of the schemes.

Re: WR position best ever at Delaware?
You know this group of WRs really haven’t proved anything yet. They still have nine games to play. I don’t count the Penn State game.
I said after the Stony Brook game that I was taking everything I saw with a grain of salt because Stony Brook is a bad football team.
I’ll also be taking everything I see against Penn State with a grain of salt as well. I’m not gonna judge the receivers on that game, the real judge will be the 9 games that follow.
One more point, In a passing offense like we have now you just need more good WRs, so it’s really not outlandish to suggest or just ask if this might be the best collective group ever. We just need more good WRs in this offense than we did in years past.
Does that make sense?
Where is #19 ?

We can have as many wide receivers as Ryan or you want. If I was playing CB for New Hampshire I'd much rather face the 3rd string WR every now and then rather then #1 and I could not imagine ever taking Eddie Conti out of a ballgame unless he was injured.Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 5:10 pm You know this group of WRs really haven’t proved anything yet. We're making too much out of my comment.
#19 left for the college hall of fame since you elected him last year.

Anyone know where WR Wimberly left #8’s Jockey stap? I heard he tossed up in the stands like Elvis doing the sweaty handkerchief
One pretty spectacular move and pivotal TD reception by our Harvard transfer. A sight to behold

Wimberly's TD should have been an ESPN Sports Center Top 10 Play of the Day.

From the Game notes
KINGS OF THE YAC
Delaware’s receivers have racked up the yards-after-catch in each of UD’s first three games, totaling 317 yards. The Blue Hens had 168 YAC in the season opener at Stony Brook and 103 against Saint Francis. Kym Wimberly had team-highs of 49 YAC yards on five catches against Stony Brook and 39 yards on his lone catch against Saint Francis. JoJo Bermudez had a team-high 34 YAC

The Ivy transfers on both sides off the ball have been really impressive. I'm glad admissions could look the other way to get these team GPA liabilities on the team!

HaHa, coach said he brought them in to raise the team GPA.GhostOfThePeeWall wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2023 8:35 pm The Ivy transfers on both sides off the ball have been really impressive. I'm glad admissions could look the other way to get these team GPA liabilities on the team!

Re: WR position best ever at Delaware?
Serious question
What’s a WR supposed to do on a windy day like this?
Block I guess
I’m hoping to see the Wet Sweep and the Wind Screen
Get those balls wet while going deep a few times

Might be a good game to use some two TE alignments.

A lot of slants and quick out patterns, lure the safeties up and hit the big one deep. Lol
