Yes we had at least two scores and a FG that normally would be on the board.

We just need to take the win and move on.
This.

Not sure why some are complaining about O’Connor’s performance. May want to check the Nova/Elon passing stats as well. Carty post game said this one was the worst weather wise all year.

Lots to clean up and we have the next two to figure it out. But 5-1 right now still feels good.
Love ya’, Udf1…but that is an interesting comparison.

nova only threw 10 times. They ran 63 times. If it is the worst weather…why are we throwing 21 times?

Not O’Conner’s fault…but WTH was Carty thinking?
Can’t disagree there Cluck. Didn’t love the play calling today.

I wasn’t a big fan of some of the play calling either. Happy with the win but some of the downfield passes were pretty low percentage opportunities considering the weather conditions. Seemed like we locked in on one receiver and threw into double coverage too often. We were fortunate not to have more interceptions. NC A&T had some decent RBs who ran with some power but our tackling wasn’t the best in that game.

I thought Kost did a really good job under difficult conditions. He fielded one snap off the ground and one high snap and punted three times for an average of 46 yards.

#35 was a beast. Thankfully he put the ball on the ground at least once. Speaking of which, Joe Nathan (sp?) was doing well until he got a little loose and also lost the ball. Coach does not like that.

5-1…with the one loss expected.

Hampton is horrible. 6-1.

Towson. Lost to Maryland 38-6. 1-1 versus the MEAC…eking by Morgan St 20-10 and losing to Norfolk State 21-14. Gave up 42 in a loss to Monmouth and 51 to UNH in a win. Albany beat them 24-17 last week. Probably lost to BYE yesterday and they face the Tribe next week. But, we should beat them if Yarns is OK and Carty recovers from the psychedelics he was on yesterday. 7-1.

The Humpties and Elon should be better than most of the teams we have faced, but sheesh, they aren’t world beaters and we have a chance to beat them both if we play well.

Very good chance at 9-1 going into the nova game. Maybe 8-2 with a hiccup. Playoffs are a very real possibility, along with a home playoff game or two. Run the table and maybe a top 4 seed?
Tubby: 3 national titles, one won on the field, all D2
Keeler: 3 national titles, all won on the field, one as a player, two as a coach, 1 D2, 2 FCS
Carty: 2 on-field national titles, one as a player, one as an OC, both FCS

Carty - get an FBS bowl win!

Playing a terrible team, so why not… Future planning possibly?

Against a good team or a playoff game in bad weather, possibly being down & having to throw, practice time in a game situation? Just a thought.

Watch the end of the first half which will make you sick. Then turn if off. Don't waste two more hours of your life watching that game. :(

I’ve watched the first quarter now and I admit I peeked ahead and know the final score… A little perplexed about only seeing 21 points … saw Harvin get knocked backwards on awkward but unintentional hit while out of bounds… ouch, hope he is ok … lower leg / ankle involved

Cumby run for first TD was spectacular… like watching a video game

Seriously considering taking your advice knowall
recruiting recruiting recruiting...It ain't rocket science....We need better more athletic players...That simple....

The TV cameras make it look like it was a sunny day in southern CA compared to what the conditions were really like. Move on.

I don’t Harvin played much if at all after his ankle was rolled up on. He can be a game changer, I as well hope he does not miss much time.

Mini Player/Stats Milestones:

RUSHING: Yarns has 1,166 career rushing yards, good for 45th all time. He is the 53rd Hens rusher to reach that mark. Cumby is 80 yards away from being No. 54. Saturday was Yarns' fourth 100-yard game of the season/career and Cumby's first of the season and third of his career.

This is all based on the university-provided (all-time) stats, which have only updated through 2021.
