First 8 Win Season Since 2010

Post by Udforever1 »

Hard to believe, but just shows how bad the lost decade was. Feels a bit weird celebrating this with our history but congrats to Coach Carty and the team for getting to 8 wins and another playoff appearance.

Now let’s find a way to beat Nova and get a first round bye!

Another win, and then a week off to heal bodies would be so good for this squad.

THIS.
Tubby: 3 national titles, one won on the field, all D2
Keeler: 3 national titles, all won on the field, one as a player, two as a coach, 1 D2, 2 FCS
Carty: 2 on-field national titles, one as a player, one as an OC, both FCS

Carty - get an FBS bowl win!

Before the season began, we didn't know if UD would have a competent QB or if the OL would be improved. There were also lots of questions about the defense. Most of the schedule was determined by the CAA, not by UD. All in all, I can't find much to complain about with a 8-2 record (which may have been one fumble away from 9-1).

For sure. And if they finish this off 9-2, there would be cause for celebration rather than have anything to complain about. Just beat effing Villanova.

Wow!! Amazing season, with such a tough scheduling road to navigate through. You have a great AD!!

Who's next up? Sallies? Middletown? Howard?

First back-to-back 8-win season since 03-04. There are two national runner-up finishes scattered in that gap.

Sustained success is difficult.

“You have a great AD.”

Have to have a real boring life to come to another team’s message board in an attempt to troll.

Carty got us into the playoffs and got us a home playoff win in his first year.

Looks as though he has us in the playoffs again in his second year.

Bonus: the team is fun to watch.

Going for 9 next weekend…and potentially double digit wins as the season continues.

It is a good time to be a Hen fan. :D

Topping it off with a win against Nova would be sweet. I'm not sure how the breakers would work but winning the three Confrence by beating Nova would be extra sweet.
1st and 10 Blue Hens!

Makes you realize how putrid the Brocco era was

Does two 8 win seasons in a row make us relevant? I hope all the transfers can even begin to grasp the rivalry we had with Nova!

Yes. That year we lost to nova in OT 28-21 in front of a full stadium (20,000+?). Pat Devlin lead us to Championship game and the chain crew when to sleep! Heart breaking day at Frisco! Wayne Hanby

To me, the worst games haven't been when Hens have been blown off the field (massacre at Nova, Keeler's last game, etc.) but the.ones that UD gift-wrapped for them (Meltdown at Chester, two blocked punts, etc.)

It's all in front of the players, coaches, everyone.

Playing for a conference title at home against your (purported) biggest rival. You can't ask for more!

Go Hens!
