Tiebreakers?
Not counting any chickens here because obviously the Hens have a huge challenge in front of them. But I’m curious if anyone knows what the tiebreaking scenarios would be next week?
Best case: Hens win, Richmond and Albany lose and we’re outright champs.
Worst case: Hens lose
What happens if the Hens, Albany, and Richmond all win?

CAA
The CAA automatic bid can be clinched if the following happens in Week 12:
Two-way scenarios
Delaware wins the auto-bid IF:
Delaware def. Villanova
AND
William & Mary def. Richmond AND Monmouth def. UAlbany
OR
William & Mary def. Richmond AND UAlbany def. Monmouth
Villanova wins the auto-bid IF:

AND
Villanova def. Delaware AND William & Mary def. Richmond
Richmond wins the auto-bid IF:

Re: Tiebreakers?
Win on Saturday and I have to think we will be seeded with at least 2 home playoff games…and more importantly, an extra week to rest and prepare for whoever we play that first game. Lose and we’ll get one home game against a patsy, but no rest. We need to beat Nova and make a playoff run!!!

Re: Tiebreakers?
Not necessarily. If we’re seeded we’re probably in the 5-8 range, which would mean one home game before going on the road for the quarters, unless an upset occurs.finpxz1 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 10:32 pm Win on Saturday and I have to think we will be seeded with at least 2 home playoff games…and more importantly, an extra week to rest and prepare for whoever we play that first game. Re: Tiebreakers?
Good point. I was getting ahead of myself. Let’s just finally end this Nova curse and see what happens. Would nice to be seeded and with a bye, regardless…Udforever1 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 10:39 pmNot necessarily. For sure, and the bye week would be huge for our banged up team.finpxz1 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 11:00 pmGood point. I was getting ahead of myself. Re: Tiebreakers?
To answer your question what happens if they all win. Since there are no head-to-head teams it goes down to total point differential in conference games (with a max of 21 points per game).CapeHen wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 12:36 pm Not counting any chickens here because obviously the Hens have a huge challenge in front of them. Worst case: Hens lose
What happens if the Hens, Albany, and Richmond all win?
Hens are currently at +97, Nova +96, Albany +92 and Richmond +58
Bottom Line: If we beat Villanova by 17 or more, then the only way we lose the auto bid is if Richmond wins and Albany loses.

Re: Tiebreakers?
The autobid doesn't necessarily clinch a seed either. Delaware could win, not be the autobid, and still receive a bye while the autobid winner plays Thanksgiving weekend.
