I agree 77. Our offense is just so much more dynamic and harder to defend when our QB runs. The defense has to respect the QB runs which tend to slow down the pass rush. They also can’t focus on our RB as much. I think we were reluctant to have Nick run in the first half, understandably so, being that we were down to our 3rd string QB. I think the coaches realized in the second half that we likely would not win if Nick didn’t have the green light to run. Once Nick started hurting them with his feet, they had to respect that which opened up the Hens offense. Silver and Watson both ran hard in the second half. Glad to see Quincy get an opportunity to contribute after being a patient team player his whole Hen career. If Yarns can’t go, would like to see Silver or St. Fleur, more once we are inside the 10 yard line. They have a little more ability to power through a tackle.

At half time in the beer line, I heard four “experts” expressing this sentiment. “Carty should be fired…” I was looking for them after the game but did not see them.

If it was on the home side, I think I saw these guys too. They disappeared just like some people did on this thread.

Great point on #1 Jax. Carty said something post game that that really settled Minicucci down.

Also great point on #2. Was speaking with a former player at half and he said if we just get a stop on the opening drive I think we’ll be fine. Wasn’t exactly how you’d draw it up with us not getting points there, but regardless, things worked out.

Well I took heat for saying this conference is now so bad we are equivalent to a 4-7/5-6 team of years past.

Aside from Elon, NH and Nova, we played terrible teams. We lost to 2/3 of the decent/good teams.

I am thrilled we won yesterday but I honestly don't know how good this team is and now with multiple quarterbacks down it's even harder to tell. In fairness show me how well any top 20 FCS team would do with the top 2 quarterbacks down.

When I made the comment my thought was simply this: with this schedule I honestly don't think our outcome would have been better or worse under Rocco.

Maybe I'm wrong as they showed heart yesterday.

My guess is next week at this time we will be staying the usual "we are still So far away from being good" mantra.

You took a lot of heat, and rightfully so, as it is still a pretty ridiculous assessment. People love to talk about the schedule. They often don’t mention the way we won. None of those games you mention as not being tough were even close. And that’s with the injuries we’ve had.

This program, in year 2 of Carty, has 9 wins. And saying Rocco would have the same record is also pretty ridiculous. I could write a book on the differences between the program then compared to now.

We are a good team, as I've stated numerous times over different threads during this season. Injuries have certainly decimated our team, particularly on offense at the skill positions. But others have stepped up, and people criticize but there's a reason those players were 2nd and 3rd string, because the players that got hurt in front of them were better players. With that said, I think those kids have played great under the circumstances, especially because most of them are either true or redshirt freshmen players. Now against what most of us would say was our "normal" CAA schedule of the past years, with the injuries that we've had would we have been 8-3? Probably not, but again the CAA sets our conference schedule, not the UD administration or the AD. Now are we as good as #2 Montana? I have my doubts at this point, but I certainly think that we have a decent punchers chance to pull the upset Saturday night, only one way to find out, right? Let's go out to Missoula and get it ON!!! GO HENS!!!

We certainly would have been better without the numerous injuries this year. Injuries are definitely a part of the game but we had more than our share of injuries.

Nevertheless, we have persevered and have a puncher’s chance against the Grizzlies. Carty may need to use all his “ bags of tricks “ to secure the victory. This is not the game to be conservative on offense.

Running game is likely to struggle. We are going to win it or lose through the passing game.

The team will be fired up in Missoula. They don’t get many chances to show off in other regions of the country and Missoula is a great stage. Who knows how it will go? Injuries, travel cross country, hostile crowd, etc are all stacked against the Hens. But in our dreams we can see a Jourdan Townsend run back, a Braden Brose TD and another TD on a run by 21, 23, 27 or 28. Stop the run, get some sacks, maybe some fortunate turnovers and who knows. Delusional, eh? Make the most of it, how many years straight can you work the portal to your advantage?

Great question and I think Carty is very portal savvy and knows Delaware can be a destination for top FCS talent …the next JMU at the FCS level and that goes for high school recruiting as well. The big caveat being FBS is looming
recruiting recruiting recruiting...It ain't rocket science....We need better more athletic players...That simple....

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! 😂
Hey 96, post your betting slip where you bet 10K?? The payoff must have been huge! Congrats
I would have put some money on the Hens in the second half via FanDuel! Not 10k 😂... Delaware needs to get online sports betting, it'll be a hokey Bally's app/site, but it would be better than nothing.
But heres the thing (Hen fans correct me if Im wrong) I dont think the lines are posted (I have fan duel and have been selective about bets) until an hour before game. In this case, Sat I wanted to go to some of the Pard tailgates so I wanted to be at field like 1130 - actually got there more like 1230. Anyways I then realized (being NJ resident) I couldnt bet by phone in Del. Line was 7.5. Im not a homer and was thinking it could be 10 pt Hen win. I stewed on it, and then I felt pretty confident we would lose by 4 for some reason! So i txt and called my nephew back in NJ to drop $$ on it but ugh he was playing flag football tournament and missed outreach until game started at 2...UGH! Oh well, great comeback win folks. Really enjoyed mixing it up with Hens fans. I wasnt ready to ask anyone if they wanted to go to MT as game are 2 halves, four quarters. That missed 33 yard FG was huge in end if you think about it. Hey good luck in Missoula and bundle up!
