Re: Xavier
A win against a Big East team. The are no buts. Give this group their due cred.
Re: Xavier
Great win and an even better team performance. This team didn't give up and kept fighting. What an exciting game to watch! Trent and Reilly came up huge while the other guys did their part. If Davis played his game we blow them out!
Team shot 82% from FT and 20 assist to 8 turnovers, good things happen when you do the small things well.
These wins don't come around too often against big conference teams.

A $85k check as well.
Davis was off tonight until the end.
Last year it was either Nelson or Davis. We had 7 guys score at least 6 pts tonight. Total team effort. Throw in Bethea eventually and a lot of options

20 assists to 8 turnovers will win you a lot of ball games.

Great win Hens!
Re: Xavier
Have to give credit where credit is due. Very nice win by MI and staff. The question now is if this will be a signature win this season and the start of something bigger, or will they drift back to mediocrity? Hoping for the former, but we’ve all been disappointed in the past by UD Basketball. They have a stretch of 3 winnable games before we get to Princeton. Time to make some noise!

Re: Xavier
I really enjoyed watching this game. The pace of the game was lit! After a shaky 10 minutes, we really took control of the game. Very active hands defensively caused a lot of turnovers.
I know Davis and Reilly, but this kid Trent took me by surprise. He is an PLAYER and playmaker. Nelson was good, but Trent is a true point guard. He controlled the game. Can’t remember the last time we had a true point guard.
I’ve learned not to get to excited about this team early, lol, but this squad seems to have some thing special. We’ll see.

Stray observations:
Trent really shined, what a performance! He was having his way with those Xavier guards and could get to the rim at will. Let's hope he keeps up the solid FT shooting.
Davis really needs to work on his shot selection. Too many threes from our "big guy". But what else can he do. He's not big enough or athletic enough to finish near the rim gainst Big East bigs. His numbers stand out but not very efficient.
Reilly is a special shooter and seems to be a capable defender. Kids got a killer instinct to hit the big shot.
Houser is in his own head. Every time he makes a mistake he immediately looks to the bench for the hook. Imagine it's hard to play with confidence when you're expecting to get pulled if you screw up. He does have a nice offensive game. Would pair well with Davis of the can get on the same page.
Ray is the swiss army knife, ultimate glue guy! Really helps with our thin front court.
Drumgoole is a nice spark off the bench, he has some 1 on 1 ability. I hope as the season goes on he gets better at his shot selection because he has the ability to score the ball as a 2nd or 3rd option.
Lane is a solid defender and seems to have a knock for finding his. 6 points , 4 rebounds, 3 assist is a solid night.
Peterson got some run and immediately stepped out of bounds and made a bad foul on a three and was not seen again. Kid needs more PT and he's not gonna get it doing those things, especially against a Big East opponent.
All in all, a hell of a team win. Let's build on it and get a win streak going. Saw the Hens are in the midst of a 38 away from home trip. Keep it up!
