Assistant defensive coach and linebackers coach at USC. Wow, is that really a step up?
Finally have a reason to care about Hens MBB again!

I doubt he’s taking a paycut.

Pretty good size Football budget at SC. The HC alone makes the GDP of some countries.

Understood, but it's a less prestigious position, isn't it?

He may want to rent in LA. Lincoln Riley already not setting the world on fire and that was WITH Caleb Williams…

Are we really going to compare Fargo and LA?

His accountant surely reminded him before negotiations that the California income tax rate for his likely pay is 12.3% versus 2.9% in North Dakota.

I think many people would take a pay cut to live in LA over North Dakota.

I was thinking the same thing. With Reily close to being on the hot seat, at a school that traditionally puts little value on defense, about to jump to conference with a much tougher schedule. Not a lot of job security there.

Even stranger, his former DC at NDSU is now the head coach at now conference-mate Northwestern.

It’s less prestigious to be the assistant manager at McDonalds, but it’s how you become manager. He could wait to be a G5 head coach, sure, but he now has a seat at the grown ups table.

is this a serious statement? Assistant Head Coach/linebackers coach at USC with easily double his salary or more and YES, USC is a much more prestigious stop on his resume...

Don't blame the dude. Won all you can win at NDSU, moves to LA to work with a top program, sure getting a heck of a pay raise, and if is successful there could get a good FBS HC job sooner rather than later or heck even take over if Riley gets the axe.
