THIS.

College Game Day will definitely draw in the students and fans. Games on ESPN will also get students in the stands.

GoHens should set up a betting pool…who will be our Game Day opponent?

Henny might still win another contest, but it would be fun to speculate.
Tubby: 3 national titles, one won on the field, all D2
Keeler: 3 national titles, all won on the field, one as a player, two as a coach, 1 D2, 2 FCS
Carty: 2 on-field national titles, one as a player, one as an OC, both FCS

Carty - get an FBS bowl win!

That's probably going to take winning some big FBS games first and putting a lot more butts in seats. We can get back to the excitement & support levels of the 1970s and early 2000s (and beyond!), but it's going to take work. Won't happen with the flip of the switch. Too much self-inflicted damage has happened and bridges have to be re-built with the UD community. It can and will happen.

I am very pleased with the JMU series but it's not easy responding to naysayers who bring up the fact that the last 3 coaches do not have a winning record against the Dukes. College Game Day in Newark? What the heck, enjoy the fantasy .

Why not? They went to JMU this year....They usually do 1-2 G5 schools each year.

UD has to prove that they belong at this level, before that fantasy can come true! It would be nice to see UD move to the Sunbelt conference one day! They have 7 members in the east division and 7 in the west. If only they could find a west member to even each division at 8 each. Would be nice to renew those old rivalries of JMU, Old Dominion, App State, Ga southern, Marshall, etc. Would be nice to be able to travel to some of these away games. Right now the only reasonable one is Liberty!

JMU on the schedule is obviously a good thing …until they beat us up a few times.

Cap’n obvious statement of the day is Delaware needs to get so much better to have a chance to win these JMU games. JMU is no FIU, UTEP or La Tech, CUSA teams Delaware could beat today.

Delaware can certainly be good enough to beat JMU, but they better start getting some marquee FBS type talent, they have time.
recruiting recruiting recruiting...It ain't rocket science....We need better more athletic players...That simple....

Wait until he finds out that our last 3 coaches didn’t lose to Wittenberg. Thank goodness we won’t see the Tigers back on our schedule.

As to the “fantasy” of having Game Day in Newark…damned shame he doesn’t actually follow football. It will happen…just a matter of time.

Keeler- 4-4
Brock- 2-2
Rocco- 0-3

Things were about even until the domination late in the Brock tenure and the entire Rocco tenure, but that’s not surprising as the Hens were getting dominated by a few teams during those years.

Not sure who you’re hanging out with but I haven’t had a single soul, even my wife who is a JMU grad, remind me that Keeler and Brock were .500 against JMU. The few I have talked to though are extremely excited this series is renewing and excited to get back down to Harrisonburg.

These future opponent announcements have been great. I've had a lot of friends and relatives text me about Colorado, Wake Forest and now JMU. The buzz around Delaware Football moving up to FBS and playing quality opponents is definitely real. I'm looking forward to the challenge and think Delaware will be up to the task! GO HENS!

Some of you are as happy as the day you got your first 2 wheeler. I'm on your side guys for the move but you have been reminded before that there are other consumers out there and unfortunately I guess I'm the only one that runs into guys at a bar googling JMU when the discussion turns toward the new schedules. I made the mistake of suggesting we had a winning record. The rest is history and not something I could defend even in KC's case. Why all the drama when I pluck down a few facts ?
