women NCA&T now

Post by tenn hen »

end of 3rd quarter- quite a contest- We looked to have this game in hand at halftime with a 10 pt lead, but we only scored 3 in the 3rd and the Aggies came back strong at the end of the quarter. Wild game- 20 TOs for us. SJ never called a time out in that disastrous period.
4th qr= 4 straight pts for them now we're down by 5. needed TO called. anything can happen in this seesaw game

Outscored now, 20-5 in second half. Turnovers and fouls galore.

How do you score 41 points in the first half then score just 3 an entire quarter. Embarrassing.

As an aside, it is obvious that NCA&T puts money into their video production. Good for them.

Men have some holes but still have the potential to be ok, especially, well besides Towson, as the schedule eases up a little bit until late February. The women just flat out aren’t very good and sometimes impossible to watch.

Credit to you for going to the games. Hope you see a win but at this point, I wouldn’t count on it sadly.

I watched the entire second half (after watching Iowa vs. Ohio State). It was truly terrible basketball! I lost count of the turnovers.

I am going to sound every one of my 71 years right now....
It wasn't just the basketball. They looked awful. Mismatched shoes. rolled up shorts...I saw no pride in wearing the University of Delaware uniform! And they played the way they looked; sloppy and undisciplined. I'm tired of hearing, "but the kids Love them" whether referring to black unis or rolled up shorts. So what? Standards, expectations and discipline have to be established and built on.

Saturday afternoon I was at the UCONN women's game vs. DePaul in Storrs. There were no rolled up shorts anywhere to be seen. All I saw was pride in their school, their program and their team. Yeah, they commit turnovers. They miss shots. They make silly mistakes, but they play like it's an honor to play for UCONN, which it is. But it's an honor to play for any college team because not many are good enough. How about showing it?

“Mismatched shoes”? At first I thought she meant different shoes on the same player. And I’m older than 71.

It appears some are questioning the running of the women's program as well as the success of the men. It might be a valid time to discuss the FBS football move to elevate the status of UD sports since I assume this would apply to the basketball programs as well. I hadn't planned on posting about this concern other than my previous posts about our new coaches' performances here at UD. I have mentioned that I believed head coaching experience should be a prerequisite for hiring-not that HC experience automatically equates to success!

It appears that funding issues are being brought up as a concern for buyouts b some. I can relate to that thinking, but if the goal is to elevate the programs then you gotta consider opening the checkbook.

FYI- 1) MI received a 5 year extension from CR. I was shocked to view the length at the time based on his previous 7 years.
2)How long does the current initial contract with Jenkins run through? I would have offered a 3 year deal which I hope CR did.

edit- just noticed that DePaul bball coach Tony Stubblefield was fired .
