Public Schools with D1 Lacrosse

Having too much time on my hands while waiting for the season to start, I counted the public/private balance in the D1 leagues. The privates dominate. I wonder if this is a recruiting advantage for the publics - or not? I also wonder if it is a factor for where Delaware might end up as an associate member in 2025? Here is the tally, by conference:
ACC - 2 of 5 are public
AE - 6 of 8
ASun - 3 of 10 (counting Air Force as a public)
A10 - 3 of 6
Big East - 0 of 6
Big 10 - 5 of 6
CAA - 2 of 8
Ivy - 0 of 7 (for some reason Columbia doesn't have a team)
MAAC - 1 of 10
Patriot - 2 of 9 (counting Army and Navy as publics)
Total - 24 of 75
ACC - 2 of 5 are public
