Offensive Line

Post by Jaxhen1 »

Someone mentioned earlier that Brose might be redshirting this year. Is there any confirmation of that? Also, if Gingrich is out for awhile, it might make sense for him to redshirt this year assuming he would be interested. The OL did pretty well with O’Neal and Demboski replacing them. Redshirting both Gingrich and Brose, and getting valuable experience for O’Neal and Demboski, would give us a pretty solid OL going into our inaugural season in FBS. I know having an inexperienced OL for 2025 was a concern for many of us.

Carty after the Bryant game said that Brose’s status was “week to week,” and Tresolini hinted in his article that that could mean redshirt since he hasn’t already.

The OLine warmed up right in front of me and Brose was in pads and moving around just fine. Once the game started his pads were off and he was on shorts with his #54 on. I saw him jumping around during the game as well so the RS idea is probably the case. He has never redshirted so could play the last 4 games or just 4 games and maintain the ability to come back next year in our initial FBS season

In the post game presser, Carty called Brose’s absence a “roster management” move. I agree sounds like red shirt possibility to me.

If ever there was a year for "roster management" this is it.

By the way....Sparks and Shupp are both eligible for a 6th year of eligibility if they choose to take it, based on their bios on the UD site. If that happens, we could have a deep and experienced O-Line next year.

If we can have that kind of depth and cohesiveness entering FBS play, it would be a godsend. Watching the first two weeks of CUSA play this season, IMO the Hens will match up well at the skill positions. The difference versus the CAA and CUSA is in line play and in depth.
