It's definitely a disappointing year so far. There are 19 pitchers listed on the roster, but, other than Ludman and maybe one or two others, they haven't consistently thrown strikes. Too many walks. Some are injured. Silan, Greenly, Elliott, Dubecq, and Reinhold are all promising but have not appeared this year. It seems that every year injuries to the pitching staff significantly hurt us. The hitting has also been off this year for some reason.

Bolton might be hurt as well. He hasn’t thrown for a few weeks unless I missed it

Leading 9-5 in the seventh today, we walked seven batters in a row, gifting the Flying Dutchmen five runs in a 14-11 loss.

They’ve dropped all 3 so far to Hofstra.

The main reason we are in last place in the conference is pitching, due it seems to injuries. We are last in the conference in ERA at 6.25. By comparison, Northeastern's ERA is 3.05. We have issued the most walks at 84. Northeastern has walked 33. We have also thrown the most wild pitches in the league.

Injuries happen so whose fault (coaching staff wise) do the walks fall on? I know they can’t control how they perform but is it due to the pressure being to much.

With a crazy lineup - we got the win today.

It’s been his time to go.

I would love to see August get a shot but I think it’ll be Prachniak if they let Sherm go.

Prachniak would be the move to me. I’d imagine he left WC to come to UD for a reason.

Watching the game on YouTube. It’s 5-5 with no outs & Dunion up....1B & 3B playing deep or even with the bag & they aren’t trying to push bunt. Instead he has a lazy foul pop.

Wish Sherm would play small ball

Watching the game on YouTube....hard to see who the umps are verse Towson.

Also Towson went small ball...lead off double, bunt him to third & single to score. 2-0 Towson

Let me add Vinny needs to sit. Hit .150 or close to that doesn’t deserve to be in the lineup - Senior or not

John Marti, who was a part time starting infielder last season, and who transferred here after two stellar seasons at Lafayette, left in the offseason and is now batting .356 for Albany. He is also 10-13 in stolen bases. He could have helped us his year.

East Coaster, Why didn't UD pick-up any of the 9 players who transferred from La Salle (dropping Baseball at the end of this season) for Fall 2020? LaSalle is currently in first place (12-4/75.0% A1o and 29-16/64.4% overall.in the A10 North. Will UD go after any of LaSalle's current players?

BHB,

Here is a link from an article in the Inquirer from 3 days ago about LaSalle baseball. Nine guys transferred in the fall, and none of the remaining players have committed to another team as of yet because they are holding out hope for a reversal from the administration. Of the remaining players, it looks like 6’6” ace pitcher Scanlon would be a good catch. Not sure if we are permitted to contact them.
