Michigan was leading the country in rushing yet they only have 84 yards rushing against Rutgers. We rushed for over 160 yards against Rutgers.
Maybe people will finally get it that Rutgers is a pretty good Big 10 football team.

Sean McDonough commented early on how UD had success running against Rutgers.

Oct 2nd Games CAA record shown
Stony Brook (0-1) @ Rhode Island (1-0) ... SB does not look good offensively. URI goes to 4-0 (2-0 CAA) with the Hens coming to town

Elon (0-1) @ Richmond (0-1) ... gonna be a lot of points scored in this one. Richmond at least has a average defense; Elon does not.

Albany (0-1) @ Delaware (1-0) ... who best used their off week to get things straightened out? Hens still the better team.

James Madison (1-0) @ New Hampshire (2-0) ... UNH gets exposed for the 2nd week in a row. Could UNH get outscored by 100 pts in two Saturdays? YEP

Upcoming - Oct 9th - Villanova @ James Madison
Upcoming - Oct 16th - James Madison @ Richmond ... at home, Richmond seems to step up for this one
Upcoming - Oct 23rd - James Madison @ Delaware

Dartmouth has been a good program the last ten years, they would give us all we could handle.

Well, Penn went to 0-3 Laffy this week and got beat, and last week Holy Cross beat Yale, Rhody thumped Brown, VMI beat Cornell and Valparaiso gave Dartmouth all they could handle...so the Ivy league isn't exactly the MVFC.

But it would be nice to see where the Ivy teams stand...silliest of excuses that they hold onto for not participating in the playoffs.

Weber loses to UC Davis 17-14. Sammy beats C Ark...game wasn't as close as the score. Refs were bad. Oooof. EWU still playing basketball. SDSU flattens InSt. SIU offense gets going and D stiffens in a comeback win going away against IlSt.

Fun football this weekend. :D

Stony, UNH, Albany...CAA flotsam and jetsam. Maine...still not good (somebody should file a missing persons report for their D). Towson...20 rushes, 15 yards (a week after they gained 37 yards on 30 carries against NDSU). But hey, they ran on UNH and Morgan St.

JMU and nova. Then maybe Richmond. Then us and Rhody.

We've got three games that we can easily lose (JMU, nova, UR)...but we can probably go 1-2 in those games. So, 8-3 with a home playoff game. Rhody could be a 4th loss, but I think we beat them in a close game up in the smaller of the two states. Very small outside chance we lose to Bill and Mary at home. The rest are cupcakes.

6-5 at worst...not happy with 7-4, but it could happen...8-3 is the best bet.

I watched the Villanova and Richmond games and came away impressed with them. they are well coached, well conditioned, and aggressive. We will be up against it with them and in big doodoo if RH isn't in the lineup.

great exciting :D college football all of the day. :D

Dan, did you go to the big Syracuse win last night at the Carrier Dome? Looked like fun
Yessir!! Everyone was juiced up for the debut of new (orange, other colored) lights installed in the Dome. Student section was standing and in full throat all game wrapping around the corner tunnel of 'Cuse.

Heck, Hugh Freeze even admitted postgame that Liberty was rattled by the noise in the first half.

Watch out for Syracuse RB Sean Tucker (No. 34) in the national rushing leaderboard. He reminds me of traits of Delaware's best backs.

In sum, a needed distraction from injury troubles of Hens... We're in for an important announcement one way or another upon tomorrow's Albany week presser. Albany has played well in Newark for years; I don't buy any of the Albany cupcake slander. It's highly irresponsible to give the football gods that material :D

If Nolan can’t play, I’m afraid 7-4 is a real possibility. If Nolan can play without being significantly handicapped, I think 8-3 is very possible. If we continue playing a very passive defense, I fear we may miss out on the playoffs. I was very happy with our defense in the spring up until the SD St. game. We played a much more aggressive style, cornerbacks playing closer to the line instead of giving the opponents wide receivers a 10 yard cushion. I never understood letting the opponents play pitch and catch and pick up easy first downs. On 3rd and less than 10, you can’t play 10 yards off the receiver. As many have said, I hate the 3 man rush unless you have dynamic rushers. Even average QBs are eventually going to find an open receiver if they have all day to survey the field without duress. You have to make QBs uncomfortable, alter their footwork, or interfere with their field of vision, and even 8 DBs can’t cover the receivers forever. We have essentially the same personnel we had in the spring on defense with the exception of Nickles and Plack. Granted, these are outstanding players and hopefully now that Nickles is back and, hopefully, Plack will be back soon will allow us to be more aggressive again. I’m not sure why McGowan, our best pass rusher in the spring, is not playing as much as he did in the spring. I feel like our coaches played more aggressive in the spring because it was an unusual year and they felt they would try and experiment a little to see what might work and evaluate how our players would respond. They responded well and played with more energy, but when the regular fall season started, we seemed to retreat into that low risk and play not to lose mode which never seems to allow our players to excel. We need to go back to an aggressive style on defense to have a chance against JMU, Villanova, and Richmond. I believe we have the players who can succeed in a more aggressive style defense. Let them loose coach.

October 9th Games (CAA record shown)
Villanova (1-0) @ James Madison (2-0)
Delaware (2-0) @ Rhode Island (2-0)

Elon (1-1) @ Maine (0-2)
Albany (0-2) @ William & Mary (1-0)
Stony Brook (0-2) @ Towson (0-1)
Open Week: New Hampshire (2-1) & Richmond (0-2)

4 of the 5 no-loss (CAA record) teams go head-to-head.

William & Mary has the opportunity to build confidence with Albany (home), Maine (away) and Towson (home), before a brutal stretch of the pre-season favorites, Villanova (away), Delaware (away) and James Madison (home).

The combined record of New Hampshire's remaining CAA games is 3-6 ... leave out Rhode Island, that record becomes 1-6

How do you give up 77 points to Pitt one week and only 23 points to James Madison the next week?

Richmond has a extra week to figure out what the hell happened yesterday at home against Elon, before hosting James Madison on October 16
