WalletHub crunched the numbers on more than 290 U.S. cities using nine key metrics. They range from the number of teams per city and the winning percentage of each to stadium capacity and social-media engagement.

Newark, De is ranked 193 overall and for Small cities, they are ranked 110. They have Newark just above Conway, SC (Coastal Carolina) and below Pine Bluff, AK.

Philadelphia - 3
Boston - 5
Williamsburg - 102
Hempstead - 136
Towson - 156
Charleston - 177
Newark - 193
Elon - 200
Harrisonburg - 224
Wilmington - 285

Best Large City - Lexington, KY
Best Midsize City - Durham, NC
Best Small City - East Lansing, MI

I looked at their 9 metrics and their rankings are largely driven by basketball success. I call an intentional & flagrant foul, so disqualified! On the other hand, Williamsburg & Towson haven't enjoyed more success than Newark, DE, so just bogus.
