Transfers In

Inside Lacrosse rated our transfer class in a sort of others receiving votes category as follows:

Delaware
Solid all around. Jack Kolbe is one of the better Merrimack players transferring out, plus Yale’s Cory Capri and OSU defender Aiden Bodoni.

This year is going to be very interesting for the Hens. LOTS of great players have departed through graduation but there are ton of really interesting newcomers.

Many people are focusing on Jack Kolbe (including Inside lacrosse who called him one of the top ten "Under-the-radar" transfers). But I believe that Jackson Shields from D3 York College might have some immediate impact as a two-way middie. Last year he had 17 goals and 7 assists as a short stick defensive middie. He also had 44 GBs and 8 CTs. The Hens desperately need to replace Reed Kurtz and Aiden Fritz (two all-time great SSDMs) and Shields might be a good stop gap. I would expect Ryder Buell, Troon Houlton and Justin Sanelli to also compete for these open spots.

Replacing Joe Speers at LSM will also be a huge task. Transfer Aiden Bodonyi (Ohio State) and MIAA newcomers Lange Gaspar and Liam Powell are going to compete hard for these open spots alongside returnees Patrick Gillin and Nick Cowen.

I will report back after the Alumni game and the scrimmage against Johns Hopkins on 10/26 with more detailed information.
