Kudos to Carty for putting 3 points on the board at the end of the first half.

1:09 left.
Stupid stupid stupid
Don't really have a problem with the above except the pass on second down. .... having a first and 15 to start with is all on that penalty before two minute timeout.

Was surprised that Rams let clock run after first down play. If Hens run twice after that Rams don't have a timeout for final drive.

Play/Clock Management? Hello. A good thing their stating QB went down. Not impressed. This game should not have been close.

Two fumbles is why game was close.

Yarns had 174 rushing yards, a career high, along with three catches.

Carty: "Not a great way to start. I thought we fought and finished with a lot of heart."

"There's so many sequences that can go one way or another. The faith we have [in Minicucci] is evident."

"We didn't communicate and execute well [on last RI TD]."

And we played with our 3rd string QB and handed them 14 points.

Other than the two back to back fumbles, I thought the offense played well, especially Yarns in the running game. Miniccui played well, a couple of overthrows but never really put the ball in danger. Defense still is letting too many open receivers in the secondary, but they keep making big plays when they need too. Defense also only gave up 7 points, since Rhode Island only had to go 35 yards after the first fumble/strip sack. So that one's on the offense. Rhode Island is a solid, good football team and we definitely outplayed them today. I'm going back to Baltimore tonight a happy man, since both games I saw at the Tub last year we lost, so the jinx is broken!!! Lol. 8-1 and on next week to the Camels, win and then stinking, rotten Villanova to finish 10-1.

I must confess - I honestly thought we were going to lose this one. And we almost found a way to.
But team played well when it counted. Great faith in Minicucci after the 2 fumbles.
I'm still concerned about our defense, but the offense (Yarns in particular) was really clicking.

What a joke. RI averaging 151.8 yards per game on the ground, UD holds them to 89. RI averaging 200.9 in the air per game, UD holds them to 211.
Congrats to Manny and the team. Porous, right.

Nice bounce back after the offensive turnovers. Stopping them on their last TD and maybe scoring one more TD would have been nice. A win is a win and 8-1 is fine with me. Go Hens!

This, 100%. Turnovers happen, credit to the Hens for overcoming them.
Finally have a reason to care about Hens MBB again!

UD '01 grad wrote: Sat Nov 09, 2024 3:43 pm Brain dead late game situation, getting a false start penalty before the two-minute timeout. All they had to do was nothing and they couldn't do it.

Hens have 1st and 15 from RI 39 with 2:00 left. Rams have two timeouts.
That was absolutely moronic. There was plenty of time on the play clock to do nothing and let the game clock go down to 2:00. I would use other adjectives but they are frowned on.

A rather unfortunate choice of words. It was a strong effort by the D today.
Proud to be a F*king Blue Hen :D
