From the article:

"Ryan Carty was KC Keeler's offensive coordinator when Sam Houston won the FCS national title in spring 2021, and he immediately reestablished Delaware as a top-15ish FCS program when he took over in 2022. He's letting it ride in 2025, having brought in only a few transfers (most of them redshirt freshmen or sophomores), and his first FBS team is a projected favorite in five games and only a slight underdog in four others. I'd be surprised if this weren't a pretty fun and competitive season for the Hens."

I'd be thrilled with five wins in the first FBS campaign. Six would be icing.

I'm optimistic.

6 wins seems like a solid bet. Bonus points for each win over 6.

LINDY'S 2025 COLLEGE FOOTBALL MAGAZINE came out today and they have Delaware 11th of 12 teams in CUSA ahead of only FLA International. Summary comment is "Significant Roster Turnover may have Delaware struggling to escape the Basement". Have as 131st best FBS team. Only 2 players on either 1st or 2nd team All Conference:

Jo Nathan Silver (RB)- 2nd Team

Noah Matthews (DE)- 2nd Team (,Kentucky transfer)

The ESPN article says we retained a lot of production. This writer says we lost it. I'll go with ESPN.

I know Hound. Was surprised they didn't do their homework including not having one of our better players listed in Fintan Brose. ESPNs author Bill Connelly is a well respected College football writer.

I’d be happy with 4 wins, thrilled with 5 or 6.

The beauty of low expectations, is the satisfaction of overachievement.

My expectations are high, which might lead to disappointment.

Either way, we are (finally) moving forward!

Athlon has us in 5th place.

Checking some of the early Vegas lines on win totals have us at 5.5. I think that 6 wins would be a big success. Given that most of our conference games will be fairly even, we will need some luck/skill to win what could be some close games.

For me, the record is almost immaterial in 2025. I've been waiting for UD to compete at the top level for almost half a century and had almost given up on it. I just want to see progress from the start to the end of the season, and I'll be happy. I expect us to be competiting for conference titles by Year 3.

Keeler had some excruciating losses in his first year in CUSA. The team was competitive in almost every game, but lost some heartbreakers. Thus, a poor record, but some solid football. Happy to see him have success and get a bunch of wins in his second year (before he left for Temple).

No one should bury us in a talent avalanche…we aren’t entering the SEC. Plenty of wins to be had, but it will require Carty to win the close games in order to have a better record.

Looking forward to a fun season.

IMO, if we win at least 6 games it will because of a change in our defense. Our offense will score points but the 3-3-5 defense is not a winning defense unless you have superior talent. Give me pressure on the QB rather than trying to cover with no pressure. On top of that, good teams are always able to run against our three man front. Fix the defensive scheme. IMO!

We've been banging the same drum for several years...and Rojas keeps Rojas-ing. :x

It will be very interesting to see how our D does against CUSA teams.
