Great game by Jayden Taylor tonight…12 points, 8 boards, and 4 blocks. Far and away the best game of his freshman year. If this team can somehow make their way into the CUSA Tournament, I can’t imagine anyone would want to play them. You really have to give these kids and staff much respect for not throwing in the towel under extremely difficult circumstances. Let’s end the regular season with a big win on Saturday…Pack the Bob!!!

Attendance: 2,041
Late-season efforts/results should make for another interesting end-of-year "progress" poll result.
Reminder: Last year's four-win run in CAA Tournament led some to be encouraged in a 16-20 season.
Do recent heroics balance out the memories of losses to Wilmington and DelState? Are early-season results now forgotten and explainable? Are wholesale changes coming/needed or do the Hens run it back again?
We'll see what the folks think soon!

Good info , thanks for sharingUDHoops wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2026 11:51 pm Been tracking tiebreakers for the year and if the Blue Hens finish top 10 to end the regular season, it will come down to multiple required outcomes just like on the football bowl-tracking finale. For basketball, this isn't as complicated.
We need a:
1. Delaware win against Louisiana Tech
2. Florida International loss against Western Kentucky
3. New Mexico State loss against Kennesaw State
(via https://x.com/FeathersFGsPod/status/202 ... 06567?s=20)
After UTEP's win against Kennesaw, they do not affect our path anymore (see here: https://x.com/FeathersFGsPod/status/202 ... 56486?s=20). New Mexico State was down to Jacksonville State the entire game, but was fouled on a 3-point attempt with 2.8 seconds in regulation and made all 3 to send the game to OT and eventually won it. Fortunately, an FIU loss to MTSU tonight keeps the Hens fighting for another gameday... if they didn't, the NMSU/UTEP wins would have ended postseason hopes tonight.
The Blue Hens tip off first on Saturday, so that will be where all the focus starts.

Re: The Odds: Sam Houston State
We have 3 of the top 10 players in the country in minutes per game. Commend the effort for the season (what could have been), but not sustainable. But again applaud these players for continuing to battle for the team and the university. All 3 are underclassmen and I hope they make the decision to stay or should I say the coaches can make a path for them to be on the team next year. Give these guys some rest and bring in a few guys who can make meaningful contributions and next year might be a bright spot.

I really hope we can get another year out of Bliss. Probably my love of baseball guys who can hit for avg like Boggs, Gwynn, Puckett who aren’t the “dunkers/home run hitters “ ….I compare them to great PG’s who can score but also have vision/dish and Bliss has been one of the best at UD.

Totally agree. Bliss has been a joy to watch this year, even as opponents are doubling-teaming him now on a regular basis. He does what a true point guard is supposed to do: be an assistant coach while on the floor. He simply makes all of his teammates a bit better and that has been enough to keep the Hens competitive in games when they probably have no right to be. I would love to see him return next year, but fear that NIL money elsewhere will lure him away. Same old story for the Hens.DaveB wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2026 9:54 pm I really hope we can get another year out of Bliss. What an incredibly frustrating season. I’ve seen a lot over the past 40 years following UD Hoops, but nothing quite like this. No doubt we could have competed for a conference championship this season with a full roster.
I have admittedly been in the “it’s time for a change” camp for the past few years, but the way MI and staff have been able to get these kids to compete under such incredibly challenging circumstances is nothing short of incredible. This easily could been a +25 loss season. Given that, and the fact that UD apparently has significant budget challenges, I highly doubt there will be a coaching change. I feel like we say this after every season, but MI must be in the running for a CUSA championship next year.
