Stadium Club & Thunderstorms

Post by BlueHenBill »

If Delaware Stadium is evacuated due to nearby thunderstorm risks (within 30 miles) and/or actual thunderstorms can those who have Stadium Club access wait out the delay(s) in the Club or must they evacuate?

Info Hound, Thanks again. Your answer says it all about the lack of variety & quality of the food in the Club.

I didn't expect it to be a restaurant. I was hoping for something akin to the food that was formerly served in the Carpenter Center Club and hasn't been since the Covid pandemic. Even the concessions in the Carpenter Center today aren't up to their previous standards especially with the diminution of the Barbecue platters or sandwich choices that were formerly sold there. That also applies to the food that was available in the Barbecue Tent that was right outside the West Stands of DE Stadium for decades until construction started io the Whitney Center and was never brought back despite my many entreaties to UD to do so. Not everyone tailgates at every game. Until Covid my wife & I went to almost every UD Away FB game from Maine to Georgia including multiple trips to most of those locations. We frequently sampled the stadium food offerings at those locations and nothing at any of them could compare with the DE Stadium Barbecue Tent where we frequently heard visitors raving about the food.

From BlueHens.com - Club seat holders have exclusive access to the Stadium Club, which includes premium food options, a full-service bar, TVs, upgraded restrooms and more.

The premium food options is not an accurate statement. The UD experience misses the mark in many areas and patrons are often underwhelmed. But who wants to go through that?

Yeah, that is simply false advertising. Typical UD admin attitude though…make a bold proclamation and expect no one to challenge it…and if someone does, just ignore them.
Dollar Dogs and $3 beer...and solid football weather...can we get a good Tuesday crowd?

I had a Helen's Sausage House sandwich at the game last Thursday and it was great. Not sure if they have that in the club or not.

No, if you’re in the club it’s better to go down to the stadium to get food. Drinks may be better ( I don’t drink a lot), food not. The club is useful for AC when it’s hot or shelter when it storms.

I'll say this, not gonna comment on variety or quality, but the benefit of the club is short/no lines. I went in at halftime during Merrimack and walked up to a woman to order, no one in front. But I'm a simple man, pretzel and Gatorade.
