Heard it was a nice trip and they are friendly. Wish I was able to make the trip with our FCS run. Don't be like me and wish. My 2 cents.
Re: Scouting Thread: Montana Griz
As with the many “be respectful” comments in this forum’s rules. Montana fans are respectful…to be respectful is part of being a good fan. During the game it is a wild atmosphere…after the whistle blows it is back to being respectful win or lose.
Football is still king in Missoula and it is our biggest draw. Many fans travel several to hundreds of miles to attend games at Washington Griz stadium. Game day is an all day affair for Griz fans.
Delaware showed a ton of heart with the poor start. Delaware are both great FCS football programs and it will be a great night in Missoula.

Re: Scouting Thread: Montana Griz
I have been through MIssoula several times (in the summer). The town is awesome and the stadium is too. So wish I could make the trip.

I haven’t been to any games at Griz stadium but have attended quite a few Nov night games at Air Force Academy. Even on “nice” days, when the sun goes down at 6,000 ft it gets a little chilly. Add in some wind and you start hugging your neighbor to stay warm! What’s the altitude in Missoula?
Re: Scouting Thread: Montana Griz
It is only 3200 ft…as mentioned there can be a “Hellgate wind” a natural occurrence since the stadium sits at a pinch point at the mouth of Hellgate canyon. The Clarkfork river is at the north side of the stadium so the combo of humidity, inversion and possible Hellgate wind as the sun goes down the beautiful afternoon can turn chilly. UMass and App St playoff games were classic examples. The first was like an extra cold freezer with thick frost and the second was a whirl-winded snow flurry.ColoradoHen wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2023 8:17 pm I haven’t been to any games at Griz stadium but have attended quite a few Nov night games at Air Force Academy. This has been an exceptionally warm November, but Montana weather can change rapidly. The weather shouldn’t effect the players…they are young. There is also some protection from the wind at field level.
Both programs have a long history of making the playoffs…it will be a great day for football and all the tailgating and enjoying the venue. For those who make the trip from Delaware…we will provide the drinks.
The stadium is a tight fitted set up and the crowd is close to the players. The capacity is 27,000 and rarely ever less than 25,000 attending each football game. Almost 20,000 season ticket holders. It is an unique set up and atmosphere.

The extended Forecast shows a temperature of around 34F at Kickoff with Snow flurries by second half. That's about 25 degrees warmer than last time we played there
