Stadium Expansion & New Football Facility

Post by RalphD58 »

If Delaware can do anything close to what Wake Forest did on their McCreary Football Complex, that'll be awesome. Apparently the addition was "only" 38 million.

This is a more in depth video on Twitter reposted by Dave Cohen who is defensive line coach @ Wake.

The McCreary Football Complex is indeed a really impressive facility, and it was funded largely with a single $20 million donation from one alum, Bob McCreary. UD needs to find a McCreary (does Elizabeth Snyder like football?)

Another very important thing to fund is NIL - Wake spent heavily on new athletic facilities to catch up with other programs just before NIL took off, and is now behind its peers in NIL funding.

Maybe Scott Swift can convince Taylor to give a chunk to her cash to her Dad's alma mater...

Maybe Nagy can get in Kelce's ear to encourage her to do just that, now that she likes football.

The Stock Broker father went to UD.

Maybe he next time he's at a Chiefs game again, Nagy and Veach can convince him to Donate.

I went back and looked at the old UD rosters and could't find his name. He transfered to UD as a football player but I don't remember seeing him play.

Maybe he played Freshman ball. They had separate teams back when we were there.

I've never heard of Scott Swift playing football for UD before that, it's not even mentioned in this UD Messenger article about him from over a decade ago: https://www1.udel.edu/udmessenger/vol17 ... swift.html.

I figure it might be a Joe B situation where he played freshman football for a brief time.

Well the school is offering a “Swift- themed economic data workshop series “ maybe getting a few $ from the family may not be too far fetched after all.

So how many seats does Delaware Stadium need moving into the FBS era?

I would like to see a Pavilion like NEZ that would give new fans and students a good reason not to take the easy way out of attending games.

Maybe 6 floors high and right on top of the action, make it intimate with capacity at about 2500…. Totally spitballing

Some more luxury boxes for the fat cat big wallet spend thrifts

Plenty of Beer, Wings, Pizza and jack up the prices, Daddy can pay for it

Comfortable seating with big screen TVs, maybe they’ll see themselves on ESPN …. Need those fans hanging over the edges and raucously loud… pack em in and make it the place to be

The new Bridge that Cluck mentioned is constructed with branches leading to the Stadium and connecting directly to the East and West stands passing through the new Pavilion as well

Make visiting Delaware Stadiums new football pavilion part of the new student/parent familiarization tour

Have a Bluehen HOF and history floor with busts, mementos and old football footage that hi-lights our gloried past, don’t forget dozens of TVs for those that want to see the game

Maybe a floor designated for the kiddies where they can run around and blow off some steam, toss the football around on a real fake field so to speak … hell, pick teams and have a game like the old days with no parents allowed

And finally, The Caribe Henton spice floor modeled after the famed Caribe Hilton, river pools, water falls, drift up floating on your inner tube to your favorite watering hole where a computer allows you to select your AI bartender including clothing optional… it’s all legal because he or she is not real…. Maybe a few TVs but my vision is anyone entering this floor will immediately forget about the game

Top floor is open, could be a driving range were at halftime /timeouts a few fans are picked to hit a 9 iron 110 yards through the uprights for a field goal .. prize would be basketball season tickets
recruiting recruiting recruiting...It ain't rocket science....We need better more athletic players...That simple....

Damn Carib, now I feel like booking with Carnival Cruise!

The pavilion is going to be a really nice feature. Any way we can get people to the game, I’m in!

Hopefully, UD's new North End Zone structure resembles Mizzou's more than Navy's.
