My original point about Penn back when we played them is we had no business letting them hang around in that game. They are at best an average FCS program and would struggle with a week-to-week CAA schedule. I didn't mention that William & Mary (163), Stony Brook (169), Towson (171), New Hampshire (177), and Elon (187) are all rated ahead of the Quakers, as well. Some of you guys were making Penn out to be Penn State...
I’ll save others the trouble. Blue Hens are 131 in the rating referenced.

Some observations from the Sagarin link

# 131 Delaware
# 133 Richmond
# 140 Harvard
# 141 Villanova
# 148 Rhode Island
# 154 Yale
# 162 Monmouth
# 163 William & Mary
# 165 Dartmouth

So after the Delaware game, I was thinking Penn has a good shot to finally get over the hump in the Ivy League. The Ivy Leagues top teams compete in the todays CAA and I think Fins Sagarin rankings bolster that opinion. Yes, the CAA is better overall. My comment/prediction about Penn didn’t age well but I was still sleeping well at night knowing nobody cares. I was wrong about that as well.
recruiting recruiting recruiting...It ain't rocket science....We need better more athletic players...That simple....

The Penn game is a unique situation. With weeks to get ready, their players were definitely prepared and itching to play their first game of the season. Having real game film to study may have given them a small leg up. That being said, did Delaware actually have to give them game film since Penn hadn't played a game yet? No excuses at the end of the day, they got it together and won. Go Hens!

Much of our line, Bermudez, Yarns, and others were out or went out. A fully healthy Delaware wins by 3 scores.

tthese rankings verify this season is an icing loaded cupcake and reveals little about the quality of this team. The numbers also reveal the low level of CAA teams- maybe why real fans were unhappy with the quality of opponents in this final year at FCS. Oh, that's JMHO

Not trying to be argumentative, trolling, etc.

But didn’t those “real fans” just last week tell you that no one was really unhappy with the schedule this year? That it’s been more excitement over the move and to just get through this year? Having been to every home game besides ironically Penn, I can tell you not one person at a tailgate or in the stadium has really mentioned the soft schedule at all. It’s been way more about CUSA, Colorado, a trip to Nashville in a few years, lot of excitement for the future!

you win again -congrats for your brilliant redundancy. Maybe the "real" fans were displeased with the lack of any FBS or high quality OOC!- Oh- I expect you will utilize the "but they were already scheduled way before". But who cares when they were scheduled since the quality sucked BIG TIME- answer my last sentence with a real answer-OK troller pal

You’re a sad, sad guy. No wonder no one takes you seriously on here. Oh well, wasn’t trying to be argumentative at all.

Wow TH, heaven forbid someone that's been to almost every home game the last 25 years offer you a different perspective and coming from probably the most sensible guy on here. He tried to explain to you the general feeling of the program way out here in Delaware but you just can't accept anyone not fully agreeing with you. Shame

YO bros- I guess those of us who don't reside near Delaware and follow every game and comment on this board are not indicative of REAL fans. It's been 60 years of my intensely rooting for my hens. Glorying in the past accomplishments and eagerly checking out the games either by radio or the wonder of tv/video etc. I watch every game once(no replay needed for real football fans) and check the all the stats and opinions of our fans on this board as well as the social media.

I agree with your comment partially. The locals who attend the games, BHTC, etc. are clearly not willing to voice their true feelings for the cupcake schedule for fear of offending most of your/their group. Most of you are so invested in the Blue Hen experience attending most of the home sporting events as well as traveling together and meeting at the away games that acceptance in the group precludes any negatives about the leadership of the program. Some of y'all often meet and talk with the head honchos at the events or simply walking the halls of the Bob get to communicate with them personally. I understand your entitlement and wishes to move away from conflict. I really do. But the facts are the facts- the rankings are clear as a solid azure daytime sky. We are playing cupcakes and have been primarily for years!!! Our success since KC was booted out has been disgraceful and y'all have come to that realization over time as some of us complained of the incompetence of our coaches-not the players. Many even have bitched about this past regrettable disastrous decade. I and a few who aren't stifled from our opinions are willing to accept the automatic trolling abuse from you bros. We are true fans who want better. I can't explain this logic any better, and I will post my thoughts based on FACTS that support my conclusions- WOW- I guess I offended y'all mentioning that we have a cupcake schedule- how about you refute this position?

I, for one, apologize to the board for the back and forth, so this will be my final post regarding this.

NO ONE has said the schedule isn’t soft. I even called it soft in my post. Just no one is complaining about it because we know what’s to come in the future, and not because you think we roam the halls mingling with the athletic department and singing the fight song on repeat (though I am glad, and I’m sure the department is glad you’re no where near).

You double, and sometimes triple down on nonsense and being miserable, and if people don’t agree with you in being miserable about something, or they disagree with what you post like last week when basically everyone said there’s been no complaints about the schedule, you’re automatically a troll or whatever word you come up with that day. Just relax a bit! And take care.

I'm good with an end to the obvious- we have a soft cupcake schedule. Please Just don't seek one small quote from the basic meaning-specifically that the rankings are as clear as a mountain stream. We haven't played one top 100 team!

No need to apologize. Thank you for your common sense words bereft of “talking heads” noise.
I’ll see you soon in the halls of the Whitney or the Bob, or maybe even the Field House.🤭

Holy schmollly.

We had another clown on here that talked about, “real fans.” Small minded, bitter guy, frustrated know-it-all complaining about everything. What is it with those folks? Maybe we should run one of those Pick-6 plays.

And, to say that a lot of people on here don’t speak their real feelings because they don’t want to lose their standing with the hierarchy…good lord. Sure, maybe one or two folks are involved with associations that present our Hens in a positive manner….but goodness, don’t mistake being polite and professional with cowardice and submission.

Frankly, those accusations sound a lot like projection, stupidity or an inability to understand how a professional should present themselves and their ideas. Or, someone is just a grumpy old guy yelling, “Listen to me!!!” at people and telling them to get off their own lawns.

Our lawns are fine…although we might need to desalinate some of your tears to use for watering.

We are 7-1 and moving to FBS.
