Rhode Island

This week, Monmouth will beat Rhode Island. Rhody will come to Newark and beat the Hens in spite of the fact that Carty will have two weeks to prepare. What say you :?:

I say it’s pretty weird to start off a thread like this but hey, whatever. Hoping URI comes in undefeated in the CAA. Would love to knock them off while they’re on top.

Very odd indeed UDF. How about a scenario where our HC brings his 24-10 record into the game and we get our 8th Win of the season with us running the football well

Monmouth and Towson are two teams I am keeping an eye on this weekend. They seem to be sporadic with their performances. Towson should have beaten Villanova (two missed FG's) and did beat W&M as well as Monmouth. Monmouth clearly played us very tough and has a high powered offense. Both teams are on the road which always adds a layer of challenge. Regardless, it would make the final weeks in the CAA very interesting if they both win.

"What say you :?:  ":

A person very close to me has repeatedly said, "If Delaware did not have negative fans, it wouldn't have any fans at all".

True! :D

We certainly should be prepared for RI with a bye week ahead. I'm worried that we will have some trouble. Since Monmouth is similar to us with a good O, but a porous D, it should be a tight one though we also have the home field advantage and possible home cookin". The M game v Hampton was a high scoring affair with Grant running for almost 200 yards. kust stats since I don't watch videos/replays of any games. UD PR/adm. should attempt to fill the stadium with any incentives-even freebees for hs kids and their families.!

I don’t think many like our scheme, I sure don’t, but I don’t think you can call our D “porous”, considering we are second in PPG allowed and first in the CAA in total yards per game allowed. Also 13th nationally in turnovers forced.

HJ- stats can be misleading IMHO- we have played cupcakes so that accounts for the stats. Monmouth and Richmond both scored relatively higher levels than the remainder of our opponents. RI will help influence my future assessments.

This is UDF. Again, I don’t think many like our scheme. And we absolutely have to get bigger, faster and stronger through the portal if we’re going to continue to run it at the FBS level. But stats show that comparing UD defense and Monmouth defense was a poor(ous) choice of words.

Hey I was just stating what is a fact, his record. Nobody was bitching about Tubby when we played Gettysburg, West Chester and Baldwin Wallace. Most schools have their breathers not just UD and this again is why we're moving UP! Bottom line is the HC has won 71 percent of his games and I am expecting a win at home. You don't have to like it but let's see if that porous Defense can hold up.

just came in from the fields with my flatcoated retriever-saw your posts- only one thought. not to be argumentative, just factual. cupcakes don't score, decent Os will(Mon, R) against an average(not porous OK?) D

can't we just get along and not take O at minor opinions/factual statements? This is why I have utilized the phrase "trolls" when nitpicking/deflection seems to be the aim-not a general discussion!

edit- I don't enjoy this type of back and forth -just saying for a friend

I’m having a general discussion, pointing out the stats. That’s all.

Anyone who disagrees with you, which honestly is the majority of this board, is a troll. Got it. Have a good day.

While the overall record may be favorable, a more honest measure of success might be the HC's record against teams with winning records, particularly within the conference. Does anyone have those stats off the top?

Mr. Carty boasts a 2-4 regular season record in November games since taking the helm in Newark. By any objective measure, he and his staff have a lot to prove in the coming weeks.
