Football General Manager

Post by Udverve »

Anyone else notice this interesting new job posting! Seems like this is a new position a lot of Universities are creating for this new era. Very creative wording in the description.

Lot of FBS programs have GMs, or chief of staffs. Almost have to in this day and age. Glad UD is joining that movement.

It's a good sign this job is opening up. No negative side to it. There's one young poster who needs to jump all over this

And rightfully so, IMHO. Another nail in the coffin of the Prez. Maybe even worse than providing an office next to his for the wife. :D :D :D

Everything on that listing is of critical importance to the success of this program. Good to see. Next vacancies...

A defensive coordinator.

And a clock management specialist.

Agree 100%, helps the coaches focus more on coaching and takes the NIL garbage off their plate.

Quite the job responsibility. Makes you wonder how all these functions are being handled now (although some certainly are new).

I noticed the following:
“Responsible for the management of the Assistant GM/Director of Player Personnel. Creating clarity and clear responsibilities for their role.”

Does that role currently exist, or will it be added once the GM is on board and has an opportunity to help define that role and interview candidates? I’m guessing the latter. That role would help take some of the workload off the GM.

Bro, even in games where we win 40 something to 10, years are being shaved off of my life expectancy watching Carty let his QBs snap the ball with 25 seconds left on the play clock.

The chance for injury and for turnovers is so unnecessarily increased, it just drives me nuts. Shorten the freaking game when you're up by three scores in the second half. It's a no-brainer.
