Stepping aside from the thrilling UPenn discussion and into the future...

Here's an article from Kevin T about Delaware's upcoming challenge:

So Sacred Heart v LIU rather than RI v UD on SNY this Saturday. Geographically I understand the choice, but ..... Did UD attempt to get our game on anything other than Flosports? there are other options like nesn, masn, etc. Maybe there wasn't enough interest due to it being another CAA event

edit- get out an vote if you haven't- disclaimer=this is not politically motivated and no one should make any inference other than it is our right and responsibility to make it to the polls without fail.

aside- Brazil sure ran a fast free election- no reference to who won or lost-just the one day smooth event.

One day smooth event...and they require voter ID. Huh...

Rhody should not be a problem. Again, the only question is who will be playing for our Hens.

Frankly, I would love to see us do well next year...and that might necessitate redshirting some folks that could help us win these last three games.

I have heard a couple guys want to stick around for next year rather than burn their redshirts. So, how does Carty balance that out with winning out this year? I do not think Carty will force them to play...so it might be next man up.

Of course, all players are replaceable. Damned interesting conversations happening in Newark.

One of the most interesting things about these last three games is waiting to see how the rosters will be managed. :D

A couple articles from URI and The Providence Journal, including some video of their post-game press conference after Monmouth.

I sure as shxt hope that's not the case.

IMO, a "win now" attitude is no less important this season than next - arguably, it's more so in 2024. With whatever momentum the reclassification will bring in terms of selling the program to potential ticket buyers, it'll be a heck of a lot easier selling a strong 10-1/9-2 record vs. a modest 8-3/7-4. Perception is reality, no matter the minutia.

If I'm Carty, I'm repeating the "win now" mantra from day one because nothing is ever guaranteed in football. If you don't have the commitment to play when you're called on, to play for your teammates who don't have the option of another season, for the boosters and ticket buyers who are plunking down their hard earn cash to watch you win games, for the university who invested in you, maybe it's time to move on after this season. It's a new age in college football. There will be players who want to play and hungry to win right away and at any cost waiting in the wings and in the portal.

UD had better not tolerate the "wait 'til next year" loser mentality or we'll get our azzes handed to us at the next level. Build the culture to win NOW.

Beautiful Fall weather this Saturday. Sunny, and a great temperature range (48-58) for the tailgate and game. Low wind.

A great day for a football game!

You're welcome. It has been a good year...we've had some great weather for our home games.

Can't make the game this week...out of town for another function (but I'll be sneaking a look and listen). Thankfully, the event is going to be outdoors. :D

Long range forecast is for another solid day for the Campbell game.

Great weather this year! Sure beats some of the downpours we sat through last year. However, we desperately could use some rain and soon. Let it rain on the other six days of the week.

as to rain- here in East Tenn the faucet has been shut off this summer and fall. :( The tremendous runoff from Helene in NC has been plummeting down to our lakes(dams), but the sky remains predominantly blue. DUST prevails as that brings to mind the famous Woody Hayes quote which older fans will never forget-"4 yards and a cloud of ...."
One half an inch forecasted for Sunday- praise the Lord.

Hoping our men in bball tonight, women Sat, and our football squad produce a downpour of success :D

We have the forecast from Cluck. The UPenn thread and debate seems to have subsided. That only leaves the uniform report...black on black for Military Appreciation day. 8)

Go Hens!
