I don't think Carty will be gone.

Ingelsby? Perhaps.
All I want for Christmas is a 2025 Bowl game for our Hens.

I could see Ingelsby gone. I think Carty has been better than this forum gives him credit for typically. Plus he just got a team to 9 wins and avoided hemorrhaging good players to the portal during a year that meant nothing. I genuinely think that's an important culture indicator that has been underrated.

They're also not going to start over with a new coach during the FBS transition but this website is full of crazies and think they're going to find somebody better

Easy money would be beating Saquan at 100 to 1 for NFL MVP. They are trying to buy me out at 6-1
Easy money would have been beating on Nova last Saturday, that was a no brainer

Those coaches will both be here in 2 years, as I said and got ripped by your buddy on another thread, People are barking at the wrong person.

Who is Ingelsby?

As for Carty, it would take a disaster for him to be gone in two years. What are reasonable expectations for an FCS team transitioning up the FBS? We’re in uncharted waters.

Carty was hired for his first head-coaching gig after Danny Rocco failed to reinvigorate the football program. 2021 was a very disappointing 5-6 season for any Delaware coach in his 5th year at the helm. VMI was 1-11 this year under the holistic leadership of Rip Van Rocco

Carty has improved on his record every year

2022 7-4 with a playoff win
2023 8-3 with a playoff win
2022 9-2 in a transition year

I’m not sure if Carty was hired as the coach to take Delaware up to FBS, but he’s our coach for now. One of his strengths is working a portal, and if he can get good enough players, he will be a good enough Coach.

"Unchartered" in what way? UD is not reinventing the proverbial wheel with this reclassification.

Should we expect to perform any better or worse than a schools like Jacksonville State (9-4 and 8-3 so far) or Sam Houston (3-9 and 8-3 so far) in their first two CUSA seasons?

The common denominator is that these two programs have very capable head coaches. And Jax hired Rich Rod as they were preparing their move just prior to the 2022 season. OTOH, Kennesaw let go their head guy because he wasn't getting the results they expected during the transition year and in their first season in CUSA, despite having coached successfully in the FCS.

I think Carty will get latitude in '25, so long as the results aren't disastrous. '26 will be a different ballgame altogether if he doesn't produce exceptional results, no matter what kind of "environment" he's creating or what sort of portal master he is. At the end of the day, wins matter most, and everything else is just table dressing.

I think Ryan has the capacity to be better than "good enough" because, as you suggested, his team's records have improved each season under his leadership.

Rich Rod can coach (proven) KC has a bigger & better region (Texas) to draw from than Delaware which helps

Uncharted means moving on from the confines of the safe and secure waters of the Delaware Bay and entering the open Atlantic… many have done so and some are never heard from again

Each school has a different Captain, navigator and crew with different levels of experience, destinations and goals and just because the Nina and the Pinta made it back to Spain, doesn’t mean the Santa Maria did… those late 15th century hurricanes were brutal on the unknowing European sailors.

Put simply, Delaware just ain’t never done this before and it’s going to be interesting to watch.

May all of Gohens have a joyous Thanksgiving

CR has a tough call here. Does she cut bait after a poor “transition” year? Or give RC a 1 or 2 year after next season?

After the Birds very impressive win over the most overrated team in the NFL. Ravens are the Sixers of the NFL, built to win during the season, not when it counts the most.

Before the Bills game the protection on my 60-1 Saquan MVP bet( He was down to 3-1) was at 13 to 1 to cash out. I took it!!! Now that's EASY MONEY!!!!!!

The protection after the Bills game went down as did his odds, now 5-1

There are low expectations for next year. Three wins to me. After that, there must be an improvement so year 2 will be important.
