Re: 2025 Baseball Schedule
Making a freshman Phenom prediction … no jinx
Henry Clausell
Class: Freshman
Hometown: Patillas, P.R.
https://bluehens.com/sports/baseball/ro ... sell/28914
His hometown in Puerto Rico
makes me think Newark better start roasting some pigs … we don’t want this young man to get homesick
what really caught my eye was his high school, you have to be pretty good in PR for that HS to take you
High School:Perkiomen, Pa
I know that HS has had a direct pipeline into Puerto Rico for at least 15 years. If you look at that high schools roster today, it’s loaded with Puerto Ricans and a kid from Santo Domingo, DR

Let’s go Henry!

Who is the Friday starter? Is it Dom, Christian or a dark horse

Re: 2025 Baseball Schedule
Delaware Baseball posted a picture on facebook of lefty Ethan Shaub with the caption 24 hours until the first pitch, so he may be the starter.
The pitching staff is going to miss Tyler August, the fastest pitcher on the team last year (transferred to Liberty), and Anthoy Gubitosi, the strike out artist and closer who transferred to Indiana University.

Re: 2025 Baseball Schedule
Odd that they went with a fresh instead of a veteran.
The fresh went 2 innings and gave 2 earned. UNC Asheville transfer m, Needles, got rocked (1 inning & 5 earned) Boys are down 8-2

Re: 2025 Baseball Schedule
In the first game, Florida Atlantic set a program record by striking out 20 Blue Hens. We might have set our own program record for losing by the most runs in the second game (19-1). We were shutout in the third game, 7-0. We weren't playing Ole Miss. The ace from last year (Marose) and a potential ace for this season (Velasquez) pitched 1 inning and 2 innings, respectively, in the third game. Things will surely get better from here.
Re: 2025 Baseball Schedule
Hen pitchers hit a total of 15 FAU batters in 3 games, Luckily things didn't escalate as a result. They also walked 16 and threw 5 wild pitches. Agree things will get better but pitching was an issue last year, especially walks, and control was again an issue this weekend.

Re: 2025 Baseball Schedule
Its early but I am starting to question Mams decision. He threw some fresh early and they got rocked as a result.
Friday night starter should be Dom and let him roll with it. He has the most experience on the staff but he only threw one inning. Disappointed Christian didnt get into a game. He has some experience from last year.

Looks like the 3 game series with FIU will be on ESPN +
Might as well fly the Terps into Miami as well as it’s just to cold for baseball anywhere north of Florida right now

The same old crap with respect to UD Pitching - too many hit batters, too many walks, too many wild pitches, too many balls, and too few strikes.Heeper wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2025 2:18 pm Hen pitchers hit a total of 15 FAU batters in 3 games, Luckily things didn't escalate as a result.
