Reviewing last year’s baseball roster, there were no players from the Deep South on the roster. Seems like we should be looking at Florida, Georgia, Carolinas, Alabama, Texas, etc. at least for a few players.

Personally I think there are plenty of players in Delaware’s footprint they can recruit to be more than competitive. Sorry but just saying we should recruit from the south more is kinda lazy. Now if you said we should recruit Puerto Rico or Latin America that would be intriguing
UD to FBS. I never thought I’d see the day

2024 Sussex Central grad, Noah Burroughs just signed on via portal.
Played at D3 Salisbury this year and led team with .384 avg with decent power numbers (9 hr, 4 3B, 13 2B and 57 RBI in 44 games).
OF and RHP (thinking he won’t pitch). Watched him play for years in travel/hs ball…gritty all around game….good addition imo.

Aiden Stewart is transferring to Indiana. The Hoosiers have now picked off two of our better players in the last two seasons.

Virginia Tech baseball landed a commitment from Saint Joseph infielder Owen Petrich. Petrich, who has one year of eligibility remaining, split time between first and third base during his two-year tenure at St. Joseph’s, having previously played at Delaware.

UDforever1, have there been any further transfers? It looks we need another pitcher or two.

I have not heard or seen anything, though I imagine there will be more arms. We lost a few freshmen who didn’t get much time to the portal, and of the 9 incoming freshmen, only 2 are pitchers.

East Coaster wrote: Fri Jun 13, 2025 4:17 pm At least two Delaware high schoolers have committed to UD - Joaquin Rodriguez Costa, a 6'6" first baseman from Sussex Central, and Jude Swift, a catcher from Salesianum. Two of the best schoolboy pitchers, Kelly from SC and Wardell from Conrad, have committed to Maryland, and the player of the year, Mitchell from Cape Henlopen, has signed with Kentucky.
Mitchell will most likely be drafted tonight or tomorrow in the mlb draft. One of the better high school hitters I’ve seen. Really good kid too.

Noah Burrough threw a little in high school, but doesn't mean that he can throw at the CUSA level!
